In her exclusive AIM interview, Kelly Clarkson reveals that she has already begun work on her next album, which she says will be "country meets blues meets rock."
"I love country music. It's fun and sweet and the melodies are usually killer," she says.
Kelly had no problem dominating the pop and rock genres, so we predict country fans will effortlessly embrace her as well. Just look at the crowd reaction to her performance with Reba McEntire at the ACMs! The girl is simply unstoppable.

Kelly's just doing anything she can to stay in the spotlight....not gonna happen!!!

Oh shut up with this "Carrie is better than Kelly" (and vice versa) crap. They are both extremely talented, successful ladies, deserve every bit of what they've achieved and have every right to spread their wings into whatever genres move them personally. So what if Kelly wants to make a country record (which is NOT what she said she is doing anyway, if you actually read the interview)? It's not up to YOU what she records, it's HER choice, it's HER career. Would you like some stranger walking into your job and telling YOU what you have to do next? Doubt it. Same goes for Carrie...and I hope SHE makes a crossover pop album at some point...or whatever else SHE wants to do. I would hope that the fans of both ladies will rally around them and spend their time being supportive of their Idols' endeavors instead of wasting time and precious energy clawing each others' eyes out over "who's better". Get a life.

I have always felt that Kelly would come to country music,
she has an amazing voice and will be a huge sucess as a country artist.

Gee, maybe Clive Davis was right after all. Perhaps Ms. Clarkson should have taken a bit of CD's advice, seeing how he's been in the business for alot more years than she's been alive. I wish her the best.

She is not acting like Carrie Underwood. She is trying to be like Reba...but as Reba's biggest fan...seriously....she aint no Reba. They broke the mold when they made Reba and I'd like to see all imitators be themselves and move on....

Another step in the Kelly Clarkson career destruction plan. Doesn't she know country has a "no fat chicks" rule?

As long as Kelly doesn't try to make another damn movie, I don't care what she sings. She's a very talented singer, not to mention very hot!!! But, remember FROM JUSTIN TO KELLY? Come on...

I think people who have nothing nice to say about others are simply unhappy, jealous people. I love Kelly's new song, she is truely a great singer!!!

Mee thinks Kelly protest too much! First of all, I think Kelly's reason for cancelling her Summer tour is because she has gotten out of her "performing" weight. I've seen a few recent pics of her and she seemed to have gained alot of weight. Personally I could care less, but the powers that be do! Secondly, she had better stop changing her genre of music so much, because people will stop taking her seriously. To jump from pop/rock diva to country is ridiculous. It seems she's not very happy with what she doing, and if her fans get the feeling that she's all over the place, she just might be singing backup for Carrie Underwood! Kelly, STICK WITH WHAT YOU KNOW!!!! By the way, her recent video....in theory the idea is great, but SHE DOESN'T FIT WITH THE SO-CALLED BOY FRIEND. SO TO ME IT DOESN'T WORK.

Kelly just makes me plain mad now. She has turned into the kind to say, "Im so much better than you." Country music sings the truth and country artists are real people who know that they have to work to earn a dollar. I dont think Kelly knows that and I will not buy her albums. Also, I dont find Carrie all that great either.

I think that a singer like Kelly can sing a lot of differt type of music, she could do stage,if she wanted to. I am a 64 year old and I think she is great. Carrie can reealy put out some good record. but I think right now she is ahead of ,but we should give Kelly a chance before we knock her out. that is what I think.

I really hope that Kelly didn't know what she was talking about when she said this. She is just fine with what she's singing now...why change?...
Zoeat 6-18-2007
I think that Kelly is a poser, and is angry that Carrie has rose above and the younger crowd is more into her. Carrie has stuck with her roots, and Kelly is like a camilion changing to whatever everyone else wants her to be which in turn makes her a poser, trying to be what she isn't and then she thinks her stuff dont stink..

Facts are, Carrie is very, very good at singing country. but that is her limit. On American Idol it was very clear where she excelled. don't get me wrong. I love Carrie's vocals and her style but lets face it Kelly has prooved time and time again that her vocal range well exceeds Carrrie's and her born talent has her singing many styles of music and sounding absolutaly incredable at all of them. To go from singing with Fantasia to singing with rheba, sounding incredable with both, now that is true talent. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Kelly!!!!!!!!!!I'll love any music you sing.

Wow, just because she wants to diversify doesn't mean that she wants to "take over" Carrie's genre. She wants to establish herself as a versitile artist. I get sick of hearing the same songs over and over again, in the same tone that one artist does. She is trying to change everything around and change her image. She's young and can do whatever she wants. I'm not saying that she will be a great country artist, but I think that if she wants to give it a try, then more power to her. I think she is great, and doesn't have a "diva" attitude. I don't know where this is all comming from.
