Jessica Simpson is reportedly in talks with CMT to star in a new reality show. According to Entertainment Weekly, the starlet is mulling over an offer for an unscripted series, showcasing her new venture into country music."With 'Newlyweds,' she let everyone into her world," Simpson's father, Joe Simpson, told EW. "Then she she had to shut the world out. Now she can open it up again so people can see, here's a girl struggling with self-esteem and finding her way. Country music is about story-telling, after all."
Simpson is currently recording her country debut in Nashville. It will include a duet with Dolly Parton and a collaboration with Willie Nelson and Charley Pride. The first single is expected in April or May.
Simpson already has acting credits in a country music video. She makes a funny cameo in Willie Nelson's 'You Don't Think I'm Funny Anymore,' alongside Owen Wilson, Luke Wilson and Woody Harrelson. Watch the video premiere here.

I'm not a fan of her's, but come on she is no where near as bad as Britney. Jessica has a good voice, and I don't think she has had half the drama Britney has had.

I think Jessica Simpson is nothing but a complete airhead. She had it all, a successful recording career, and a very hot husband, Nick Lachey. She let her father step in, and manage her personal life, and now she's nothing but a has been. She has no singing talent, and her acting is so bad, it stinks up the place. Go back to Texas, and crawl under a rock.

She has no talent. Why do we want to see her recording a country album? May as well watch the worst people audition on American Idol because it's the same thing. Didn't Simpson's latest movie go straight to DVD? She, her sister and her Dad need to go away forever. We don't want/need what they are trying to sell.

But, such meanness spewing from so many of those commenting here is just plain wrong! Many come across as though Jessica has personally injured them somehow!! Just like the hatred folks spew toward Britney and others. Mean for mean's sake.
