Miranda Lambert 'Terrifies' Esquire

Miranda Lambert has been named 'Terrifying Woman of the Year' by Esquire magazine in its annual Esky Music Awards. The publication notes Lambert's latest single, 'Gunpowder and Lead,' saying, "Her voice balances raucousness and tenderness so perfectly, it's tough to tell where the insanely violent characters begin and the real Miranda Lambert leaves off."

Sure, the song is about a feisty woman with a loaded shotgun. But Lambert told us it was actually inspired by sad, real-life experiences.

"When I was younger, my parents took in abused women and their kids," she told us in a recent interview. "It's meant to be taken light-hearted in some aspects. But it's also very real to me, because I saw first-hand what damage it can do to a family to be in an abusive relationship."

Lambert also says she's tried to soften her image with autobiographical ballads like 'Desperation' and 'More Like Her' on her 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' album.

I understand lisa's opinion (but dont agree) here's a recent video of Miranda. It was recorded about a week ago. She's put on a little more weight but she's still smokin as hell I dont care what anyone says.

I cant stand miranda lambert she has a big obnoxious mouth and puts every other country artist down with her smart remarks.Mirandas first album hasnt even gone gold so why she is admired i just dont know.

Miranda Lambert is one heck of a good performer and her songs have some meat in them. They have a few basic truths of what a lot of people in the situation might want to say or do, but are unable to unlike the hip hop pap served up by Taylor Swift.

Miranda...look at the slob that accompanied you. If a young man cannot dress accordingly, leave his lazy butt at home. He may be a cutie, but should have put a little more effort into his attire. Untucked shirt, jeans and sport coat??? Looked like HE thought HE was modeling for the pics. Lose the loser.

Miranda should look at who she's bringing to the awards with her. The "friend", although cute, looks like a slob in jeans and un-tucked shirt with sport jacket. Have a little class guy. You're at a major award ceremony with a pretty young girl, don't disgrace her!

Lisa- Are you a tad jealous of this very pretty singer??? She looks gorgeous in ALL those outfits. I am willing to bet you are not even close to looking so good or even half as good. Be a little nicer girl, it will pretty up your heart and after awhile will show thru to your whole appearance..
