11 Questions With Dolly Parton: No. 1

If you could change one thing about the country music industry, what would you change?

I would say, "Get Dolly Parton back on the radio! Get me back on mainstream! Stop this attitude that older people ain't any good anymore!" We're as good as we ever were, if we ever were any good. [laughs] But I can't complain, because I've had 30 years of success and have won every award that there is to be had. But still, it's as new to me as it was when I first started and just as important. So I wish they would treat some of the great artists with the respect that a lot of them deserve.

Seriously. You have about as much a chance of Dolly reading your email as you have opening up a snow cone shop in Hell. Dolly could care less about what she considers pions think. Look at my other comment on the page. I am only being truthful to you. She only cares for her image, her fortune, and how other elites in the higher ups regard her. Her so called fans are her stepping stones. BroMike

FAKE. In it for her SELF. Helps others only when she feels it will boost her own image. Fans fall for her 'Dolly Snow' like rotten teeth kids for fresh hard candy! Voice sounds like a chiwawa getting its paw nails clipped. Yep, a true American alright. By the way, if every American senator, congressman, officer, president, whatever had to answer for all of their deeds, the prisons would be maxed out and there would be a multitude of empty seats in Washington, even nationwide. God bless America, indeed. God save America. Work a miracle! Why even have laws when your own trusted leaders and lawmen trash them???!!! Sleep now.

The truly great C&W talent endures. Eddy Arnold, Roy Acuff, Stringbean, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, the Original Carter Family, Marty Robbins and their peers are gone.Their music will last with THE REAL FANS, and attract new fans. Dolly and Loretta will always have fans -- simply because of their poetic talent.
Dolly would be a major songwriter, even without that soaring voice, the personality or the twin peaks. And we would still love her songs.
But, there will always be young idiots making decisions in the big business of music and recording, who are so HIP, they know anyone older than 30 cannot be as great as the current youngest artist. AND THEY WILL CONTINUE TO BE WRONG.

I love Dolly to death but I have got to disagree with her Jessica Simpson needs to go back under the rock she came from. Forget country Jessica you sound like a sick cat.

Well, I'm not too sure about Dolly - my biggest memories of her are are Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoons. Still, is it age that's really the problem? People above are putting her in the same class as Garth Brooks, George Strait, and Reba. While Garth Brooks doesn't do much between unretirements, both George and Reba are frequently on the radio down here in San Antonio. We LOVE our George!
