This is a good song right there. I love everything about this song so I'll say that I give it a 10 out of 10.

I think this video is great and the song is too, being an Alan fan since he started he has never let me down in his country tunes and has always stayed straight to his roots, I love him for that

I just felt someone needed to post a real comment about what a wonderful song and video this is. Another great performance by a true country artist.

This song and video are great, just like everything else Alan does. He outdoes himself every time he sings or writes a song. He is pure American, humble and appreciative of all he has and he has earned it all.

If I had taken pen to paper and written my father's life history, it would have been these words! I was shocked to my seat when I heard this song and how it mirrored my father's life. Dad was a Korean War veteran, married the only woman he loved, struggled while he raised us kids, taught us right and wrong, lived in the same little southern town all his adult life, and died not long ago from PD. Best song I have ever heard. Thank you, Mr. Jackson for saying what I don't have the talent to put in words! Thank you, Daddy!

This song and video are fabulous which is no great surprise because everything Alan does is magnificent. He has to be the greatest songwriter of all time and what a man he is. I saw him in concert at Oklahoma State University and he is just wonderful.

I would like to ditto the comment that Carol made on April 13th. This song IS the story of my dad. He was son of a farmer in a small town in KY and worked the fields on his fathers land. One of 13.
He married and was a blue collar worker and he saw that we never did without. His hands were rough as sandpaper and his calloused hands certainly told his story. He only loved 1 woman for 49 years. We were 7 people (they had 3 girls, 2 boys)that lived in a small house that he built with his own hands with 1 bathroom and my brother was not planned. He was a hard worker and his greatest contribution was his family that he has left behind whom he was extremly proud of. This song brings a tear to my eye of pride each time I hear it.

Another of many AJ classics. Excellent.
My parents have been married 67 years and I often see the memories of our family through the words of his songs.

alan jackson has what very few country singers have. i dont cry very easily but the first time i heard "small town southern man" i almost started crying because it reminded meso much of my grandfather who has a very bad case of alzheimers. i want to say thank you alan jackson.
