Big Kenny Hits the Big Screen in Eye-Opening Documentary

Big & Rich's Kenny Alphin makes his debut on the big screen tomorrow, as the Nashville Film Festival premieres his documentary, 'Bearing Light: A Journey to Sudan.' Big Kenny says the film is the story of his trip to Sudan with his wife last fall.

"We went to Akon in southern Sudan, just 70 miles south of the line of demarcation between it and Darfur, where we are helping a school called My Sister's Keeper," he explains.

The school educates children bought out of slavery or orphaned because of the war that's been going on for 20 years in that country. The Alphins are quick to say that the trip was a life-changing experience. Big Kenny explains that the inspiration for the documentary came from the group of people he witnessed maintaining their dignity and grace despite terrible circumstances.
