Garth Brooks Marks Another Milestone

Garth Brooks will be the Academy of Country Music's first-ever recipient of the Crystal Milestone Award. Brooks will be honored during the live ACM broadcast next Sunday in Las Vegas. The living legend says he is "flattered and humbled" by the award.

"The ACM has always taken care of me and my music," said Brooks. "The fact that they have never awarded it before makes me feel the respect and the faith they have in me as an artist, and I will continue to work my butt off to make sure they are happy with their choice."

Brooks also plans to perform a medley of some of his greatest hits on the live broadcast. He has won a whopping 18 ACM Awards throughout his career, including Artist of the Decade in 1998.

The ACM is also honoring the Oak Ridge Boys, Brenda Lee, the late Porter Wagoner and the late Conway Twitty. They're the recipients of the Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award, which honors artists instrumental in the growth of country music. Legendary television personality Dick Clark will receive the ACM's Jim Reeves International Award, for his outstanding contributions to the acceptance of country music throughout the world. Those awards will be presented at a special event in Nashville later this year.
