Carrie Underwood is the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry. The singer was inducted Saturday during a star-studded show."This really seems like a great family to be part of," Underwood tearfully told the Opry audience. "I promise I'll do everything I possibly can to not make you regret it."
Garth Brooks did the honors of the formal induction. The fellow Oklahoma native complimented Underwood, calling her "sharp as a wit," and reminded her of the night's significance.
"Nothing will last as long or be as important as this award right here," said Brooks.
Underwood followed her induction with a duet with Vince Gill. At age 25, she is now the Opry's youngest member.
