Carrie Underwood is the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry. The singer was inducted Saturday during a star-studded show."This really seems like a great family to be part of," Underwood tearfully told the Opry audience. "I promise I'll do everything I possibly can to not make you regret it."
Garth Brooks did the honors of the formal induction. The fellow Oklahoma native complimented Underwood, calling her "sharp as a wit," and reminded her of the night's significance.
"Nothing will last as long or be as important as this award right here," said Brooks.
Underwood followed her induction with a duet with Vince Gill. At age 25, she is now the Opry's youngest member.

What an honor for Carrie! She is an amazing singer and I am so proud for her. The Opry has added a wonderful new member.

I used to really like Carrie Underwood, but would not be sorry if she never got another award. Her attitude is horrible and I have never seen anyway who gives a worst acceptance speech than her.

Carrie inducted into the Opry big deal she only got invited because she won Idol. To me she isn;t country. She didn't pound the streets and play the bars like most of the true country stars did.

I'm sorry you feel that way, Tina. I'm sure if you knew Carrie personally, you'd feel differently.
I've never known anyone so down to earth and humble as Carrie is. May God continue to bless her so she can continue to bless the rest of the world with her talent.
I can't wait to tell my husband about this. I'll never forget the first time we heard her sing (in the Miss NSU Pageant) and he looked me in the eye and said, "That girl is going places." Looking back on that night, I'd say that was an understatement.
BTW, she won the Talent Award that night.

Carrie Underwood should not have gotten inducted into the Grand Old Opry. She is not now or never will be good enough to be in the opry with the real country singers. She needs to come down off of her high horse because she is no good and I also hope she never win another award because her music stink and she needs to learn how to put some clothes on as a lot of others

Anyone who says anything bad about Carrie is simply jealous. The press who picks up on any possible off color tidbit can't find any on her. She is a super talent who has remained grounded through all her success. She is one of the few stars I would care to know personally. She deserves all the awards and recognization she gets.

Carrie Underwood not a good singer and dresser? What planet are you from? You must be confusing her with Jessica Simpson and that would put in the the dumb ass category. OMG Wake up. What an idiot you are. SHe has an incredible voice, deserves every award she's gotten so far and by far dresses to kill. Are you an idiot or what?
