Dolly Parton Peeved at Howard Stern

Dolly Parton has fired back at Howard Stern, in response to a bit that the shock-jock aired earlier this month on his Sirius satellite radio show. According to Parton, Stern's show used elements from her audiobook to electronically manipulate her speaking voice, creating "racist and sexually vulgar statements." The outraged singer hinted that a lawsuit might be forthcoming as a result of the comedic bit.

"I have never been so shocked, hurt and humiliated in all my life," Parton said in a statement. "I cannot believe what Howard Stern has done to me. In a blue million years, I would never have such vulgar things come out of my mouth."

"They have done editing or some sort of trickery to make this horrible, horrible thing," the legendary singer-songwriter continued. "Please accept my apology for them and certainly know I had nothing to do with this. If there was ever going to be a lawsuit, it's going to be over this. Just wanted you to know that I am completely devastated by this."

Stern's 'anything-goes' broadcast is notorious for such vocal manipulations. The use of the phony celebrity sound-clips are often used in prank phone calls that air on the show.
