Dolly Parton Peeved at Howard Stern

Dolly Parton has fired back at Howard Stern, in response to a bit that the shock-jock aired earlier this month on his Sirius satellite radio show. According to Parton, Stern's show used elements from her audiobook to electronically manipulate her speaking voice, creating "racist and sexually vulgar statements." The outraged singer hinted that a lawsuit might be forthcoming as a result of the comedic bit.

"I have never been so shocked, hurt and humiliated in all my life," Parton said in a statement. "I cannot believe what Howard Stern has done to me. In a blue million years, I would never have such vulgar things come out of my mouth."

"They have done editing or some sort of trickery to make this horrible, horrible thing," the legendary singer-songwriter continued. "Please accept my apology for them and certainly know I had nothing to do with this. If there was ever going to be a lawsuit, it's going to be over this. Just wanted you to know that I am completely devastated by this."

Stern's 'anything-goes' broadcast is notorious for such vocal manipulations. The use of the phony celebrity sound-clips are often used in prank phone calls that air on the show.

Howard is a pig. Dolly is a lady...don't be upset by the swine...It's the only way he can make money... Dolly has true talent. Go ahead and sue the pants off him...he deserves it.

I love Dolly but seriously, mellow out. It was obviously done as a joke and anyone who thinks the statements were actually coming from Dolly and not badly spliced together peices of her audiobook is an idiot. The bit was funny. Move on...

if that was a joke it wasn't funny and anyone who thought it was funny is sick. you wouldn't be laughing if it were done to you . he is disgusting. i dont care how 'popular' he may be with the pervs and sickos in the world..that doesnt make him any less wrong. let him make jokes about himself and leave everyone else alone

If your pissed at Stern, you better be pissed at ALL the country stars/comedians that make jokes at other peoples expense-Reba was just poking fun of Roger Clemens at an awards show last night; not to mention all the times these country comedians make fun of people-don't be hyprocrites here.

The fact that people love to hear this kind of talk just goes to show that we are living in a morally depraved world. People that listen to Howard stern are in a moral gutter and it would be nice to see him off the air all together. Dolly should sue.

We use to listen to Howard Stern almost 30 years ago from around the Wash.D.C. area. He and Robin, were good, and funny. Now it's a true 'shock' jock' show. He's mean, he's vular, and takes most everything he does toooo far. I'm so glad he got taken off regular air waves and TV too. He's a big part of what's wrong in America today. People have no limits of what is right or wrong. You must respect others and yourself. I'm truly glad I'm on the far side of my life rather than the early side... I don't know how our Country can take much more.

HOWARD STERN WAS TAKEN OFF TV FOR ALL THE VULGAR THINGS HE WAS DOING.HE DOSN,T BELONG ON ANY BROADCASTING SITE.
DOLLY IS A VERY NICE PERSON AND NEVER WOULD HURT ANY ONE . SHE HAS DONE MORE FOR PEOPLE AND CHILDREN IN THE USA THAN HOWARD WILL EVER DO. DOLLY, GOD AND THE RIGHT PEOPLE KNOW WHAT KIND OF PERSON YOU ARE AND THEY KNOW YOU WOULD NOT SAY OR DO ANY THING LIKE THEY SAY YOU DID.
WE LOVE YOU AND PRAY FOR YOU ALL THE TIME. WE HAVE SEEN IN PERSON SOME OF THE THINGS YOU DO. IF THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD WOULD TALK MORE ABOUT THE GOOD THINGS PEOPLE DO, IT WOULD BE A BETTER WORLD, HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN THIS YEAR AT DOLLYWOOD. GOD BLESS AND KEEP THE FAITH.
