Shania Twain and her husband, Robert "Mutt" Lange, have called it quits. A rep for the country superstar confirmed the news to PEOPLE magazine today.

"Shania Twain and her husband, music producer Robert 'Mutt' Lange, are separating after 14 years of marriage. This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time," said rep Jason Owen in a prepared statement.

The 42-year-old Twain and 59-year-old Lange were married in 1993. They left Nashville in 2000 to live in Switzerland, where they have been away from the spotlight, raising their 6-year-old son, Eja. Twain may return to the spotlight soon, as she's just recently launched a new perfume line and reportedly plans to release a new album later this year.
