I’m a huge fan of ‘Country Music’. I was so angry though when I saw it reported on the news this morning that, ’Kenney Chesney’ was so unappreciative for winning ‘The Entertainer Of The Year Award’ all because the fans voted this year for the award instead of the CMA. His very words were, I quote, “The award should be given out for hard work, not for an industry gimmick!” That comment was extremely rude and totally arrogant! It takes hard work to succeed in any business, but without the support of those that love you it will be a very hard road to go. The music business is no exception, without the fans support and paying for that hard work, where would he or any of the country stars be today??? Shame on you, Kenney! I’m sure you will live to regret those words when your music sales go wayyyyyyyy down because you lost the support of your hard working fans!

This is exactly what Kenny said last night: "This one is really extra special, because long before I had a hit record, the fans always came to the shows, and I want to thank you guys for voting and being there for me," Chesney said. And the award should be given out for hard work, not a gimmick. I think you mis-understood what he was saying, it had nothing to do with his fans, it was the industry execs. Every interview I've ever seen w/ Kenny, all he talks about are his fans. The reason he is #1 in ticket sales and his concerts are so awesome is because he loves his fans and wants to give them the best show he can. He deserves to win this award.

Joy, lighten up, there's more important issues to get angry over, like say, the PRICE OF GASOLINE???

You really need to pay better attention when kenny speaks he was very greatful of the award and it ment more to him this year then any other because it was from his fans! Kenny's ticket for his concerts are priced for his fans! He stated one year that he wanted the ticet prices affordable for his fans!!!! HE LOVES HIS FANS!!! So watch it again and listen close this time! I listened very well and heard what he said and he was greatful and I voted for George!

I totally understood his point. He does appreciate his fans, but allowing the winner to be chosen by fans alone is not a good measure of the talent and showmanship to qualify as Entertainer of the Year. What was wrong with the previous methond of chosing the winner? All the awards should be chosen by the same method.

Who was the woman sitting next to him also to the one he hugged when he won?

Kenny is awesome. I've been to concerts of all the nominees. Kenny defiantly deserves it. When I saw George in concert. He just stood in one spot the whole concert with his guitar. That's not entertaining. Kenny has high energy concerts, he loves country music and loves his fans, he dose it for the fans, which is obvious he could charge a lot more for his concerts like some other artists do, but he want fans to be able to afford them. KENNY IS THE ULTIMATE ENTERTAINER.

Winning 4 years in a row is yes a big accomplishment, however his shows don't change. Kenny has come to my city every summer for the last 3 years and again this summer. I have gone the last 3 years and am not going this year because I do not want to watch the same show I watched last year. I am a die hard Kenny Chesney fan and love everything he does, I just don't understand how not changing your show wins 4 years in a row. I have scene him in concert at least 7 times...back in the chubby with a mulet days to and wish he would change the show up to make him the entertainer of the year!

Kenny Chesney is an awsome entertainer, but I understand what he means. They all work hard to get where they are and all the winners should have been chosen in the same way. Who knows, maybe next year they won't do it this way if they get enough feed back. However I can't wait to see Kenny next month!!

I've been to see Kenny and hello, he's awesome! He puts on a GREAT show. All the nominees are great, but you can't deny Kenny's talent. He's been the biggest tour for years, playing for a million people every year! His ticket prices are affordable. Kenny rocks! and he's a hottie!

I voted for Kenny. It was a hard choosing between him and Paisley. While I do enjoy Paisley's way with a lyric I enjoy more of Kenny's songs which are diverse and can be poigniant or funny.

I find it interesting to read people saying country music has changed for the worse when I have only recently started enjoying it. I love Kellie Pickler and Carrie Underwood. I love Toby Keith who is highly underpraised. I have a new appreciation of George Strait's music and have finally gotten used to Reba making a one syllable word into at least three syllables to be able to enjoy her great voice.

As far as allowing fans to determine the winner for Entertainer of the Year, well, to me it seems like the only logical way. I mean, who are they entertaining? The fans, right? So who would know better who is the most entertaining? For me the problem was the list we were given to choose from was incomplete.

Other than the glaring exlusion of Toby Keith, where were the females? There has to be a female out their who is entertaining the masses. Why was there no female on the list? Reba? Carrie? Taylor? Jo Dee? Trisha? Hello, CMA?! Females? Afraid of the competition, fellas?

The country music industry has not changed at all. While anyone who is successful in such a competitive field must be driven to perform, they all want (and have always wanted) fame and fortune. It is male driven, so Kenny got the award this year. Would he have done so up against a female? We will never know.
