LeAnn Rimes wants her critics to understand that she is an adult. The singer who burst onto the country music scene as a fresh-faced 13-year-old has no regrets for shedding her girl-next-door image. "I was always America's sweetheart, but you grow up, you get married, you have sex, my God!" she tells the LA Times. "I work out a lot, I take care of myself and I like showing it off in a way that's fun."
The now 25-year-old Rimes has been showing off her svelte figure a lot lately. She strips down to her skivvies in her 'Nothin' Better to Do' video and rolls around on a bed clad in lingerie in 'Til We Ain't Strangers Anymore,' her steamy video with Bon Jovi. The singer has also graced recent covers of Shape and Fitness magazines wearing a bikini.
Rimes expresses sympathy for teen stars like Miley Cyrus who are criticized for their own sometimes sexy images. When asked about the controversy surrounding Cyrus' Vanity Fair cover shoot, the former child star advises Cyrus to rise above the criticism.
"The sad thing is when you're in their position, everyone at some point is going to bring you down," Rimes says. "This is where they're going to show how strong they are . . . They have to keep their heads down and not listen."

I agree she has every right to flaunt her figure, especially since she works hard at it. But there's a line between tastefully sexy and trashy sexy, and I believe she has crossed it.

Bobby you are SO right she looked terrible at the show, and that video is hidious....yes there is nothing wrong with trying to look sexy, but she goes alittle overboard, I don't think she is that attractive, and would she PLEASE remember to wear a bra.....NOT SEXY....SHE SAY'S SHE'S GROWN UP...WELL SHE SURE ISN'T ACTING LIKE IT.....REALLY GROW UP LEANN, WEAR A BRA AND LEAVE THE MINI SKIRTS TO THE TRAMPS....

There is definitely a difference between looking good. This girl has always had a problem with her wardrobe. I'm not sure if she dresses herself or pays someone, but she definitely doesn't have the boobs to fill out the dresses she wears. She also is not much to look at, though she does have a great voice.

Please! She's 27 let her do what ever she wants!! And as far as kids watching, it's their parents job to filter what they see not the performers and actors. Who cares if people think she looked trashy or whatnot. As long as she feels good about herself then the hell with every one else!!

I think she looks great, she works out has a great husband and noone to have to please but herself and him. I think it is AWESOME that she is defending poor Miley Cyrus. Everyone is so bored with their life they want to bring down anyone that has a gift of any sort. People grow up and age just like you and I have. They are not differently than us.
