Chris Cagle Says Booze is Not to Blame for Arrest

Chris Cagle is speaking out about his recent arrest on domestic assault charges, insisting that he was not drunk.

"This argument was not elevated nor induced because of my being intoxicated. I've worked too hard and come this far," Cagle told Nashville television station WKRN. "And to prove this, I asked to take a sobriety test and a Breathalyzer test and was denied the opportunity by the police officer on site."

In fact, Cagle told The Boot in our exclusive interview last month that he had quit drinking. Regardless, he still takes full responsibility for his actions.

"I was wrong and I am embarrassed," the singer admits.

Both Cagle and his girlfriend, Jennifer Tant, were arrested last week on misdemeanor domestic assault charges. Police say the two were intoxicated when an argument turned physical. They say Cagle told them Tant hit him on the head with an umbrella, while Tant claimed Cagle hit her with her purse. The two are set to appear in court to face their charges on July 3.

Leona, i'm glad you took that boy in. i wouldn't want my cops wasting my tax dollars just b/c a parent wanted to "scare the kid." he needed to be taught a lesson. at my momma's house, he'd also have to come up with the money to repair the front door.

as for chris, with what cops have to go through these days to get drunks into jail (blood tests at car accidents/the hospital WITHOUT your permission is the new tactic) he'd be doing that cop a favor in court to have taken a test right then. i know some ppl that get "punch drunk" when they're UBERtired. is he diabetic or hypoglycemic and having a low? other factors could have had him "acting drunk" but we won't know for sure now b/c the cops didn't do their job and put those damn expensive tests to the test. shame, shame, shame.

Cagle's an idiot. Sambora should have gotten a felony. The Cagle spat (and charges) will go away. They're both the star witness and they'll make up and drop the charges. Just another sign of the demise of this once great country.

Who are these people? Doesn't anybody listen to classy music such as Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms? Or doesn't anyone listen to cool music like the Beatles, the Doors, the Who, Genesis, Pink Floyd?

Chris sure is getting a lot of negative attention these last few years. I'm surprised he still has a career at all. Chris looks like an abuser doesnt he?

Did anyone see the Sambora picture? that guy looks like hell. Heather is lucky to be rid of him. He needs to get off the drugs, maybe get some face work done. Guy looks awful.

No matter how many times he hits her with her purse, he can not make a silk purse out of a pigs ear. If you don't believe me look it up in the good book.
