Aaron Tippin says his dad always believed in and supported his music career. What better way to honor his father, who died in a car accident in 2005, than to title his latest collection 'He Believed: A Son's Tribute.'The album's title track is one that Tippin's dad particularly loved. Half the songs are ones that were favorites of his father's; the other half is new material. The singer was careful to choose from among his biggest hits, including 'Working Man's Ph.D,' 'My Blue Angel,' 'I Got It Honest' and 'Honky Tonk Superman.' He also wanted to pick tunes that guys would like, since the CD came out shortly before Father's Day.
"The album will speak to anyone who has had a mentor, be it their father or another person close to them," Tippin explains.
Among the new tunes are several that Tippin co-wrote with his wife Thea. The couple plan to spend Father's Day with their boys, Theodore and Thomas. The singer says he's pretty sure the boys have already bought gifts for him. And he has his response ready.
"I never neglect to say 'No, you're my gifts for Father's Day."
'He Believed: A Son's Tribute' is available exclusively in the gift shops of Cracker Barrel Restaurants throughout the country.
