Gary Allan likes keeping a low profile. That's why you rarely see him at red carpet events or schmoozing with other celebrities."I'm mostly friends with songwriters," Allan told the Chicago Sun Times. "They're the ones who are the most real people. I actually don't get along with a lot of the stars. Arrogance is my biggest pet peeve in life."
Even though the California crooner has sold millions of albums, Allan still hasn't quite embraced his own stardom.
"I don't feel like a big star. I still feel like I'm trying to get that stadium gig myself," he says. "I feel like I'm climbing a big set of stairs."
Allan does have a few stadium gigs this summer, opening for Kenny Chesney on his Poets & Pirates Tour. Check out tour dates here.

Gary Allan is very much like the Southern Califonia star who preceded him in "industry recognition" oversight -- Dwight Yoakam -- they deserve awards and record sales for their truly great music, but maybe not everybody is listening. The depth of the line of music adds up over time, and speaks for itself though

One of the most underrated and overlooked stars in the industry. He's going to marry me, he just doesn;t know it yet.
