This song was released just before the 9/11 terrorist attacks and became a patriotic pick-me-up afterward. It resurfaced in 2004 as President George W. Bush's re-election campaign song.

all the country singers makin money singin about our troops in battle and singin patriotic songs, are makin a lot of money off a tragic war. yet none of the these two step turds are joinin the armed forces. they are a bunch of phonies.

You are so wrong.... My son is in the military and I have sent them patriotic cd's over seas to Afghanistan. They say sometimes it helps them to keep going. I think you are just not looking at this from a soldiers point of view.

Country singers are the best, but I could never understand just why, they all have facial hair, does it make them feel manly or is it because of their long hair, pony tails, etc that it's the only way for them to look like a man.

Toby Keith always looks like he needs to take a bath.Does he shower at the truck stops around the country like TA? The hat he wears looks like it just went through the conditioner of a hay swather. And that shirt he always wears looks like his grandmother gave it to him twenty years ago on Christmas. He also has the appearance of just finishing off a six pack of beer. When will this guy ever grow up?

AS readers wrote about patriotism of this country. Its sad that some singers seems to think that all Americans are running around saying "we'll put a boot in your a--, its the american way.(Toby's)" Every time someone says something like that. We're going to lose an neighbor's son down the street. I heard that in 60's and we lost 58,000 + kids. So you readers are correct.. we should let Toby go to iraq and face a 12 old kid with a RPG!

The military is not for everyone. I think Toby has proven his support to our troops. How many of you commenting on him not being in the service are in it yourselves?? bunch of jealous haters miserable and alone. Let's see you guys put yourselves in harms way to brighten up the lives of the troops. Real easy to sit in your compfy house and criticize.
