Country's Greatest Patriotic Songs: No. 10

Country music and patriotism have always gone hand-in-hand. Whether in time of war or peace, American anthems have been fan-favorites for decades. The Boot counts down our 10 favorite country music tributes to the U.S.A.

'Only in America,'
Brooks & Dunn (2001)

Proudest Lines: "Only in America/Where we dream in red, white and blue/Only in America/Where we dream as big as we want to"

This song was released just before the 9/11 terrorist attacks and became a patriotic pick-me-up afterward. It resurfaced in 2004 as President George W. Bush's re-election campaign song.

Agreed.. Best patriotic song...An American Trilogy by Elvis Presley... Nothing else comes close. Regarding country artists singing patriotic songs who may or may not have served.... their music is appreciated and is a tribute to our men and women serving to keep the USA the greatest nation on the face of the earth. My son is a US MARINE serving in Afghanistan and let me tell you.. he loves those songs

I am also a soldier and I could not agree more. Easy for these people to sit here behind their keyboards and talk like they are some authority on how we feel about things.
I would rathere hear the patriotic songs than to hear the Communist Garbage coming out of Hollyweird.
Far to many of these people putting in their two cents are doing so while they sip lattes and wear their Che tee shirts. All the while gettting upset when we call them Communist. I see it like this. If you libs do not like to be called Commies then stop acting and thinking like commies. Burn the Che tee shirt and stop quoting and pushing ideas directly from the Communist Manifesto.
