'Only in America,'Brooks & Dunn (2001)
Proudest Lines: "Only in America/Where we dream in red, white and blue/Only in America/Where we dream as big as we want to"
This song was released just before the 9/11 terrorist attacks and became a patriotic pick-me-up afterward. It resurfaced in 2004 as President George W. Bush's re-election campaign song.

all the country singers makin money singin about our troops in battle and singin patriotic songs, are makin a lot of money off a tragic war. yet none of the these two step turds are joinin the armed forces. they are a bunch of phonies.

You are so wrong.... My son is in the military and I have sent them patriotic cd's over seas to Afghanistan. They say sometimes it helps them to keep going. I think you are just not looking at this from a soldiers point of view.
dansnyder202at 9-01-2008
you know these 2 "phonies" are giving alot of us who are fighting this war the strength to do so, making us feel appreciated by America. yeah "us" I'm over in Iraq right now and your really one to talk by sitting at home and criticizing people who are doing something good for the troops. you're the phony bubba.

to dansnyder202 i just want to say thanks...and i'm glad the singers sing patriotic songs. maybe if everyone was a little more patriotic and cared about their neighbors we'd have less problems in the good ole USA

Country singers are the best, but I could never understand just why, they all have facial hair, does it make them feel manly or is it because of their long hair, pony tails, etc that it's the only way for them to look like a man.

During Nam The Green Berets was sung by a real green beret, these war profiteers like to pretend they are soldiers just for the money. (Tobey Keith)

This real Green Beret was also a child molester, look it up

Toby Keith always looks like he needs to take a bath.Does he shower at the truck stops around the country like TA? The hat he wears looks like it just went through the conditioner of a hay swather. And that shirt he always wears looks like his grandmother gave it to him twenty years ago on Christmas. He also has the appearance of just finishing off a six pack of beer. When will this guy ever grow up?

It appears as though we have a lot of wanna be music critics here today. Many don't realize that music is a bit of home for these men and women away from home in some foxhole,on a dusty hill,in a cold wet jungle,or in some dirty town thousands of miles away where the CRITICS back here can't even pronounce the name of it.To them it's no different than listening to the words of The National Anthym or a hymn. It's a bit of home. It's feeling and it's motivation. It's their feelings put to music about their love of a girl, family, some street back here in America. It's stories about the lifes they miss back here and they don't give a damn if the recording artist is man or woman, has a pony tail or a shaved head, wears skirts or jeans.I have spent my ENTIRE life involved in one way or another with the Armed Forces. As the daughter of a WW2 vet,as the wife of a soldier,as the mother of a soldier, and as a soldier (67G) herself during the Viet Nam era. There wasn't and hasn't been one conflict or war where the men and women who serve with dignity and pride hasn't marched with a tune in the heads. And when Toby Keith sings of putting a boot in the ass,he's right up there with the troops because he is speaking a line from a song that they say with their hearts. Why don't some of you wanna be CRITICS travel to where they serve just to give them a taste of home or pick up a pen and jot down a few words of encouragement or of home for them. Even a poem can be set to music.I'm CERTAIN they would be deeply appreciative. One has to walk the walk to talk the talk.God bless America and the troops.OH..To those entertainers who have walked the land where our troops serve today and yesterday, so we can sit back here and be CRITICS...I salute and thank you.

AMEN for Country Joe, CSNY, CCR, Bob Dylan for their anti-war songs.
Tobey Keith sucks. None of these redneck singers ever served.
P.S. Country Joe was in Nam.
