Story Behind the Song: 'Good Friend and a Glass of Wine,' LeAnn Rimes

I remember writing down the title in my journal several years ago on a plane ride. I was having a tough time being away from home, and I thought a good friend and a glass of wine could solve many of my problems. I carried the title around for a long while until it found a home and became what it is today.

I agree the sexual stuff isn't necessary, but I guess it sells. At least LeAnn can sing, though, unlike the other starlets who are all sex and no voice.

IF A GOOD FRIEND OF HERS IS HER OTHER WOMEN FRIENDS, WHY THE NEED FOR ALL THE SEXY MOVES, SEXY LOOKS, SEXY STRETCHES AGAINST THE BRICK WALL, ETC.?

IS SHE TRYING TO MAKE LOVE TO THE CAMERA GUY? IF SO, THE VIDEO DOESN'T MAKE SENSE AND IS A WASTE OF GOOD MONEY AND TIME SPENT BY ALL INVOLVED.

IF I NEEDED A GOOD FRIEND AND A GLASS OF WINE IT WOULD BE ONE GOOD FRIEND, A GLASS OF WINE AND AN ALL-NIGHT GAB-FEST TO SHARE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE DREAMS, PLANS, AND ALSO TO VENT AND GET RID OF STRESS, AND MY FRIEND WOULD BE MY SOUNDING BOARD.

I don't know if --stigmitized with a voice that sounds like
--the late Patsy Cline is an asset or a set back. Noone can deny your
extremely talented.
I seldom listen to country. I just fell in love with Faith Hill's
recording-- Lost. Her voice and lyrics were really unique. I asked
someone on night shift- Who's that? they answered: -That's "Faith
Hill". Daniel L.Phillips/Thecrystaltomahawk

I can't bear to watch the video. What's with the sex-siren solo footage? It's totally gratuitous and completely at odds with the song's lyrics. It just makes her look desperate and ridiculous. WTF?

What? She has earned her place, she deserves to be on the scene with both new upstarts and veterans. I'll look forward to any new music LeAnn comes out with, personally.
