Best Cheating Songs: No. 2

'Your Cheatin' Heart'
--Hank Williams (1953)

Wandering Words: "Your cheatin' heart will tell on you."

Williams supposedly wrote this song in his car, while complaining to his fiancée, Billie Jean, about his first wife, Audrey. After mentioning Audrey's "cheating heart," he dictated the lyrics to Billie Jean, who scribbled away in the passenger's seat.

OH I forgot to add one cheating song that should have made the cut was, "Cold Cold Heart". "How can I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold cold heart. I don't remember the artist but I believe Ray Charles had a good rendition of this song.

Try hank williams for cold cold heart. the lyrics to im so lonesome i could cry have stood the test of time and stand among the best ever written for its simplicity and beauty. i never cared for the country music nasal twang but artist from nora jones to ray charles have recorded his music. Hank may have been country but he was NOT dumb.

Hank may not have been the sharpest knife in the drawer but when a person writes about him being dumb, they might check their spelling and grammar before they put it on paper. Now, that said, Hank was a good country artist and left this world much too soon. Blame it on himself, yes, but his music is still OK, in my books.
