Josh Turner Goes Gospel for Acting Debut

Josh Turner is set to appear on the big screen in his first-ever acting role as gospel singer George Beverly Shea in 'Billy: The Early Years.' The film tells the story of young Billy Graham, who was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1918, and went on to become one of the most famous evangelists in the world.

Along with Turner, Sara Evans, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn are among the country artists expected to appear on the film's soundtrack, which is due to be released in October. Evans' song from the film will also be released as a single.

'Billy: The Early Years' was directed by actor Robby Benson, and stars newcomer Armie Hammer as Billy Graham.
