In spite of his recent controversial statement "that black people would say that [Senator Barack Obama] don't talk, act or carry himself as a black person," Toby Keith had some more positive things to say about the presidential candidate recently. While promoting his new movie 'Beer For My Horses' in Los Angeles, Keith was asked about the role patriotism is playing in the election. He answered by praising Senator Obama.
"I think he's the best Democratic candidate we've had since Bill Clinton," Keith told reporters. "And that's coming from a Democrat."
Yes, Keith is a lifelong Democrat, despite assumptions otherwise. The country superstar also says he's been against the war in Iraq from the start. That's where he finds a kindred spirit in Obama.
"There's a big part of America that really believes that there is a war on terrorism, and that we need to finish up," Keith contined. "So I thought it was beautiful the other day when Obama went to Afghanistan and got educated about Afghanistan and Iraq. He came back and said some really nice things .... As far as leadership and patriotism goes, I think it's really important that those things have to take place."

Danielle hit the nail right on the head. Big ole Toby is about the buck. If anyone has heard him interview it is almost painfully obvious. I would vote the other way simply because TK is an endorser!
Remember this is the guy who slammed Gretchen Wilson for the can of "chew" in her back pocket but cashes those checks for the song, "Get drunk and be somebody". Morals???? Na.................

I am embarrassed that TOBY KEITH and I come from the same state- Toby should shut up and sing - or focus on selling his cheap redneck meat and potatoes in bricktown. He seriously believes we are defending a war on terrorism? How about defending capitalism? I bet he thinks the Chicks are terrorists too. I agree with you guys. If he is against the war then why does he have a song that seemingly promotes it? If he is such a staunch democrat then why was he so upset when the Dixie Chicks were slamming President Bush? I don't think you should slam the President regardless of your affiliation but if I was as anti-war and such a good democrat as Toby Keith claims he is then I don't see why he'd be so upset. I agree that he just goes where he thinks he can make the biggest money. I haven't like him or his music for awhile and now I like him even less.

Obama goes to Iraq and Afganistan and doesn't even acknowledge the troops, he gets his basketball promo shots in and ignores them totally. you seem to be on the up and up about president bush but u've forgotten that this war and 9/11 would never have happened if clinton would have done his job while he was in office. i used to think a lot of toby keith and yes, i know that he supports our troops. i'm grateful that he does, but he's also become wishywashy. needless to say, he's definitely lost another fan.
