Toby Keith Praises Barack Obama

In spite of his recent controversial statement "that black people would say that [Senator Barack Obama] don't talk, act or carry himself as a black person," Toby Keith had some more positive things to say about the presidential candidate recently.

While promoting his new movie 'Beer For My Horses' in Los Angeles, Keith was asked about the role patriotism is playing in the election. He answered by praising Senator Obama.

"I think he's the best Democratic candidate we've had since Bill Clinton," Keith told reporters. "And that's coming from a Democrat."

Yes, Keith is a lifelong Democrat, despite assumptions otherwise. The country superstar also says he's been against the war in Iraq from the start. That's where he finds a kindred spirit in Obama.

"There's a big part of America that really believes that there is a war on terrorism, and that we need to finish up," Keith contined. "So I thought it was beautiful the other day when Obama went to Afghanistan and got educated about Afghanistan and Iraq. He came back and said some really nice things .... As far as leadership and patriotism goes, I think it's really important that those things have to take place."

Again, Toby did not say he was going to vote for Obama. Just said nice things about him. I just read he is upset about the way the Dems are trashing Sarah Palin and may go Independent. Don't throw Toby under the bus. He is a great American and his support of our wonderful troops is right up there with Bob Hope.

I am from the same state as Toby Keith, the great Oklahoma,. AND I am embarrassed that he is from here. How can you sing your patriotic songs, RED, WHITE & BLUE & support a man who doesn't believe in saluting our flag. You are a joke Toby. I had all your CD's and have been a loyal eater at your Toby's Bar and Grill, but now I get sick seeing your name on the Moore water tower. I give your name and your billboaqrd the 1 finger salute. You are just like the man you support-flip-flopping like a fish outta water. You lost not only me but a couple of hundred of supporters here in Oklahoma, not that you care, evidentally you just sing songs you dont truly believe in.

I agree with Toby, and like him even more now. Only ignorant people say that the war in Iraq has anything to do with 9/11. For those who think that, do some research, please. President Bush has completely let Bin Laden and his people off the hook for what they did to us. Iraq had no part of it. Obama has said time and time again we need to be in Afganistan and Pakistan, cause thats where the people are that attacked us. Not all people are stupid, but stupid people re-elected Bush who is the worst president in recent history. Clinton had nothing to do with 9/11. Bush didn't have anything to do with 9/11. But the fact that those people are still alive because of Bush and McCain. People like Rush Limbaugh and Fox News have gotten people brainwashed. Look stuff up, get off Fox and watch the news. I have been talking to many Republicans about why they are voting for McCain. The cold hard reality is that I knew more about McCain than they did, then knew literaly nothing, as most of you that have commented on this Toby Keith article.

When I saw Toby on Glen Beck I don't remember him endorsing Obama, just said nice things about him. He said he didn't know who he was going to vote for. After following Toby for eight years and listening carefully to his songs and interviews, I really can't believe that he would vote for Obama.
He is a big supporter of our troops and cares greatly about them.

C'mon Toby ! I may not ever support you again. Unless,of course you were only sayin' somethin' to save your ass 'cause you were in that cesspool known as L.A.,but I doubt it. A big guy like you ? Are you a phoney sack o' $hit ? That nappy-headed nit-wit would RUIN this country. Dont PRETEND to be a red neck (politically CONSERVATIVE working-class white, look it up )just to look good.Is "Toby" just a "product",now. I'll put my money on Larry the Cable Guy from now on. A REAL good American.

I like Toby even less now that he is going with Obama. He is just a greasy want to be cowboy. I wouldn't go see him if it was free and he was giving away money. I'm a Dem but you can bet your butt I won't vote for Obama. He will ruin our country and that is a fact. Everyone should be scared of him for he is bad news.

This country has to improve the image which is going to take decades because of the baboon we have as our president. I respect the office but not the person who holds the office. I agree with Toby Keith. We have the right to voice our opinion on what we believe. I am one glad to see he has the balls to say it....not hide behind the cover of it will hurt the sale of his records. I WILL BUY HIS RECORD!
