Dolly Parton is responding to rumors of her death ... and proving she has a good sense of humor when it comes to just about anything."I did about have a heart attack when I found out I was dead," she joked to Nashville television station WKRN. "But I am feeling better than ever."
The rumors spread last Friday that Parton had died of congestive heart failure. Her "death" was reportedly announced over the loud speakers at a high school football game, and then made it all the way to FOX News.
The 62-year-old Parton, indeed alive and well, is looking forward to the next leg of her 'Backwoods Barbie' tour, along with the fall opening of the Broadway production of '9 to 5,' for which she wrote all of the music.

I love Dolly for her honest and funny way she deals with life's challenges. She has always been my favorite singer, when people think I should be listening to R&B. Love you Doll, stay healthy and stay with us for many, many more.

I love Dolly as a singer and as a person who has
given all of us the greatest talent and passion
for music that America has produced in the last
century. I love Dolly personally for her stance
on tradition and for keeping her songs simple, but
with a passion you really can't explain.
