Kenny Chesney Leads CMA Nominations

Kenny Chesney leads the pack of 2008 CMA Awards nominees with seven nods. The country superstar is up for Entertainer, Male Vocalist, Single, Album and Video of the Year, along with two nods in the Musical Event category. Chesney has taken home the night's biggest award, Entertainer of the Year, for the past two years in a row.

Sugarland and George Strait follow Chesney with six nominations each. Sugarland is nominated for Entertainer of the Year for the first time, also marking the first time in seven years that a female is nominated in this category.

There were several surprises in this morning's announcements, including a few snubs. For the second year in a row, Faith Hill's name was not called in the CMA nominations, nor was hubby Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks or Sara Evans.

Other surprises include Taylor Swift's first nod in the Female Vocalist category. Trace Adkins is celebrating his first CMA nomination in ten years, as he is included in the Single and Video of the Year lists for 'You're Gonna Miss This.' And perhaps the toughest category to predict will be the Best New Artist award (formerly dubbed the Horizon Award), as the nominees in that category include Jason Aldean, Rodney Atkins, Lady Antebellum, James Otto and Kellie Pickler.

I am sick of poeple ripping on Sugarland! They are unique, and deserve to be nominated for EOTY! They put on a wonderful show, and I hope they at least get Duo this year. EOTY was s stunner, and to be quite honest, while I have nothing against the other nominees, I hope Jennifer and Kristian kick butt and win. They probably won't, but hey, I can hope!

How the hell Keith Urban is classified "country" is beyond belief. Kenny Chesney is such a freakin' sissy he has to squat to pee. Brad Paisley is somewhere in between. Is Merle Haggard, George Strait, George Jones, Hank Jr. and the like dead? Urban, Chesney, Paisley won't make a pimple on these guys arses. Get Real.

First how has Tim Mcgraw won everything, he has ONE Entertainer award his WHOLE career, just ONE and thta was in 2001. He has NEVER won the Entertainer at the ACM's. Tim hasn't been nominated for Male Vocalist since 2003 and last won in 1999. He won his ONLY Entertainer award in 2001 and hasn't been nominated in THREE years.

During that time Tim and Faith had the the record breaking tour in 20006 that was #1. The #2 tour in 2007.

Do you know the award time frame is July 1st 2007 through June 2008. Do you know Tim was the TOP SELLING MALE ARTIST IN COUNTRY MUSIC in 2007. Not Kenny, not Brad but Tim. Do you know ONLY Tim, Carrie and Rascal Flatts were in the TOP TEN BESTSELLING ARTIST in 2007 in ALL of music, all genres. Do you know in 2007 Tim was the SECOND most played artist in country radio.

Its all politics, and if you are connected to Sony/BMG you don't stand a chance.
