Alison Krauss to Release Live DVD

Alison Krauss is set to release 'A Hundred Miles or More: Live From the Tracking Room' -- a DVD of live performances of songs from her CD, 'A Hundred Miles or More: The Collection.' In addition to her Union Station band mates Dan Tyminski and Jerry Douglas, she also collaborates with some of music's heaviest hitters on the DVD, including Brad Paisley, John Waite, James Taylor, Tony Rice, Sam Bush and John Hobbs, just to name a few.

Slated originally as a GAC television special, the DVD was taped in a recording studio reminiscent of how many of the tracks were originally created. It includes 'Whiskey Lullaby' with Paisley, which won CMA awards for Song, Musical Event and Music Video of the Year in 2005.

"I knew that having her on it was the magic that would make that song timeless," Paisley says of Krauss' part in 'Whiskey Lullaby.' "I felt the song needed that angelic voice. When I get to heaven and I hear the angels sing, if they are anything less than Alison Krauss, well, I'm going to have to come back."

Also included on the DVD is 'Lay Down Beside Me,' a duet with Waite, and the Louvin Brothers classic, 'How's The World Treating You,' her Grammy-award winning duet with Taylor.

"I revere the Louvin Brothers, but working with Alison on this project was the main attraction," Taylor said. "That she would put our duet on her album is really a feather in my cap."

Also included is 'Shadows,' a previously unheard collaboration with Rice, and Krauss' new single, 'Simple Love'. Interspersed among the songs, Krauss takes time to discuss her career path, personal life and life lessons she's learned. 'A Hundred Miles or More: Live From the Tracking Room' will be released November 11.
