You left out the most relevant "reporting" gig Kellie's had -- her "man on the street" segment in New York in December 2006 for Jay Leno. This was the one where she went in search of the perfect gift for Leno, and ran into people like Al Roker, Taylor Hicks and Lionel Ritchie.
It was hilarious, just like her other correspondent gigs for Leno.
Some of her funniest moments came from her interaction with average New Yorkers -- a man on the subway, a man sipping coffee outside an Italian restaurant, a perfume sales woman, the greeter at FAO Schwartz -- who all warmed immediately to her accent and charm. This bodes well for her New Year's Eve gig.
What's amazing is she does most of this without a script, according to an article in The Tennessean.
"Even when I've done the Jay Leno correspondent work, I've never read off a monitor or had a script," she said. "I do so bad when I have to wear those monitors in my ear and people are talking to me because it confuses me, so I rip them out and wing it. I think I do better without a script."
I can't wait to see Kellie on New Year's Eve.
