Mindy McCready will voluntarily turn herself over to Tennessee authorities Tuesday to serve a 60-day sentence for parole violation. The troubled country singer, pictured here in her latest mug shot, was most recently arrested in June for falsifying information on her community service report. "The successful completion of this sentence will satisfy her obligation to the State of Tennessee resulting from her probation violation," reports McCready's attorney, Lee Ofman.
McCready has a long rap sheet, starting with a 2004 arrest for fraudulently obtaining prescription drugs. In May 2005, she was arrested for DUI and was arrested again just two months later on a string of charges, including identity theft and unlawful imprisonment. A subsequent arrest came in July 2007, when McCready allegedly assaulted her own mother and then resisted arrest. That incident resulted in her spending four months in a Tennessee jail.
Upon her December 2007 release from prison, McCready began the process of picking up the pieces, trying to get her career and family back on track. She started recording a new album and shot a documentary called 'Fallen Angel,' about her recovery. But the singer's comeback was curbed in July, after friends say she suffered a nervous breakdown and washed down the prescription sleep aid Ambien with a bottle of vodka. She immediately checked into an Arizona rehabilitation facility.
"I am working very hard to put all of this behind me as quickly as possible so I can get back to what I like to do most: sing, write songs, and entertain," McCready writes in a letter to fans. "I would like to thank my fans for their unwavering support as I continue to work on my recovery and to regain custody of my precious son, Zander."
