Craig Morgan officially becomes a member of the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday, October 25. And while he admits it's an honor, he also says that waiting for his opportunity was somewhat frustrating, especially as he watched newer artists like Carrie Underwood receive the invitation first."I'm not taking anything away from Carrie, because she's probably one of the greatest female singers we have in our format," Craig tells Dial-Global. "She's amazing and deserves everything she's getting. But when she was asked to be a member, it was like, 'Wow, you know, I've kind of been at this a while.'"
But as soon as I told myself that -- I'll never forget -- I got on the bus one night, the night after her induction, and a couple of the guys are talkin' about it. And they were like, 'Man, I can't believe you haven't been asked yet.' And I'm like, 'You know what? It's not my time, and when it is my time we will be asked. It's all in God's time. And when it's right it'll be perfect.' And it could not have been more perfect."
Look for Craig to perform his latest single, 'Love Remembers,' during his Opry induction. The single is currently in the Top 20 and climbing the charts.
