Toby Keith is fed up with the Democrats' treatment of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin."The kooks in the Democratic party -- this extreme left -- are hammering Palin so bad, that they're gonna cause John McCain to win this thing," the country superstar tells CMT. "I've never been a huge John McCain fan ... I appreciate everything he did for this country. But at the same time, the wackos are hammering her so hard, that they're gonna make that ticket win. They can't get out of their own way. They've got a chance to win it, and they're gonna blow it by hammering her."
Keith, a longtime Democrat, says he is now re-registering as an independent.
"My party that I've been affiliated with all these years doesn't stand for anything that I stand for anymore," he reports. "They've lost any sensibility that they had, and they've allowed all the kooks in. So I'm going independent."
While Keith has gone on the record praising Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, he has never publicly endorsed either candidate. But he tells CMT that he'll likely go with the Republican ticket this year, partially because of his admiration for Palin.
"Palin's about the least political-looking, acting, resembling person that's ever run for office," Keith says of the Alaska governor. "All the women in America can relate to everything she's done. She's real normal. Her kid is pregnant, she hunts, she snowmobiles, she's backwoods. I just think a lot of women are going to appreciate her and feel that they have to vote for her."

Tobey, stop being a wimp. You have a hard-on for her and won't admit it.

"All the women in America can relate to everything she's done". No, a lot of women can relate to what she has done wrong and that is too many.

the only thing that's been messing up this country are the crooked politics that run this country. Palin is the closest thing to a real person I've seen in this run.

I was shocked to find out that tobey keith is,was a democrat. I suppose that makes me guilty of judging the book by the cover. I however cannot ignore Sarah Palins obvious inequities as a candidate for the V.P. slot. Her depth is about as deep as Fox news is fair and balanced. I also think that the role her husband plays behind the scenes is disturbing at the least.

just because you agree with someones lifestyle doesnt make them qualified for the most powerful office in the world.
normally the VP nom doesnt matter to me, but when you have a man who is as likely to pass away in the next 8 yrs as McCain, then you have to look at the VP, and she is so underqualified for that office.

HA! So you vote in an underqualified person for PRESIDENT and that justifies it so much more than if you were to vote in an old guy who knows what he is doing?! Then, when he croaks, IF he croaks, his "underqualified" VP takes over for the rest of his term and is ultimately beaten out next term by Hilary because we all know this Prez race has nothing to do about black or white or underqualification! It is to get a woman in the White House so Hillz can have someone to beat the crap out of in 2 years. ;) (BTW, I am a Rep)

I AGREE WITH TOBY )AND WHY I WON'T VOTE FOR OBAMA IS BECAUSE HES FOR ALL THE PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT ILLEGAL IN THIS COUNTRY AND FOR HIS KIND SO IF HE GETS IN FORGET ABOUT US REAL AMERCIAN PEOPLE SORRY BUT THATS HOW IT IS OBAMA IS HALF MUSLIN WERE ALL IN TROUBLE.

"WHY I WON'T VOTE FOR OBAMA IS BECAUSE HES FOR ALL THE PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT ILLEGAL IN THIS COUNTRY AND FOR HIS KIND"
Okay Obama is for "all the people not illegal in this country" doesn't that mean that he is for "real americans" as you say? And plus who is a "real american" I'm quite sure I could find a legal immigrant with a better understanding of the constitution and this country than you do. Do you realize that although Palin is a barely sufficient candidate for VP she is by no means qualified for president? Her foreign policy experience is that she can see Russia!! Yay for her, at 17 I have more foreign policy experience. Obama may be half muslim but its time someone with a bit of common sense and personality takes over this country, what ever happens it can't be worse than the dumbass running the country now
