'Fancy' -- Reba McEntire, 1991
The bottom lines: "We didn't have money for food or rent/To say the least we were hard-pressed/Then mama spent every last penny we had/To buy me a dancing dress."
A financially strapped mom trains her teenage daughter to become a prostitute, as a way to bring in money. Fancy learns her lessons well -- she finds her first rich john and never looks back.

Reba is great! She is so funny! I am so disappointed the show is cancelled. I hope she does another one!
If she does start another sitcom, I hope she takes Melissa with her!

This was a hedious cover of a great Bobby Gentry song

No one will ever do this song as well as Bobby Gentry did........and Bobby certainly moved up !!!

In my opinion, Reba's version was better than Bobbie Gentry's, who did it originally and I think wrote the song.

BS...you make it sound like this was strictly a Reba McIntire song. The song was written and recorded in 1969 by Bobbie Gentry.

Gentry's original version [she also wrote it] was grittier and more despondent, but Reba's glitz and glam version was the perfect renewal to bring the song to a new generation.
I love both.

She always looks like Howdy Doody's mother to me! That goofy goony smile makes me ill. The hair has GOT to go! I realize country women like to look wild, but that's a bit over the top....still, I would hit it if she'd let me.

your just a jealous jerk.
amnesia2828at 11-28-2008
boy...I couldn't have said it better! Howdy Doody's mother or Ronald McDonald's twin sister.

Mrrouxman, Try to keep up. That photo of her was from the 80's, when ALL women had big hair. She now has a shorter, more sleek hair style. And she has not only a beautiful smile, but a beautiful voice and heart, as well. Don't you know it's not nice to make fun of someone for they way God made them.

That's an old picture. Her hair style is completely different now. You should know what you are talking about before you post. And you're just gross!!

I'd hit it too, but I would have to work hard on blocking out the Howdy Doody / Ronald McDonald thing, damn.
