Tim McGraw to Host 'Saturday Night Live'

Live from New York, it's Tim McGraw! The country superstar, actor and author is adding yet another role on his ever-growing resume: 'Saturday Night Live' host. The first country artist to serve as host this millennium, he joins an elite list that includes Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton as the few country artists in the history of the show asked to host.

"I'm looking forward to hosting the show," said McGraw. "I'm not exactly known for my comedy, but then again if you've been to one of my shows you might feel differently!"

McGraw's November 22 'SNL' show coincides with the release the following week of his new movie, 'Four Christmases.' McGraw says he hopes the comedic chops of his all-star cast in the movie rubbed off on him.

"Hopefully hanging around Vince Vaughn, Reese Witherspoon and Jon Favreau is good training," he says.

McGraw has been campaigning for a spot on 'SNL' for a long time. His agent, Rod Essig, tells Nashville's Tennessean newspaper that he called the producers of the show every week for five years. When Essig finally got the go-ahead, he delivered the news to McGraw himself, who couldn't believe it.

"No way, that's not true," McGraw responded. But once he was convinced, the country star wasted no time in giving Essig another goal to shoot for: "I want the halftime show at the Super Bowl one year, too."

Tim McGraw hosts 'Saturday Night Live' on November 22, 11:30 PM ET on NBC.

I completely agree with Coleen and Janet. Tim McGraw is a fine singer. Yes, he may be cross over, but what artist isnt now-a-days. Anyway, about Sarah Palin's wardrobe, some people should research and listen to real people, not FOX NEWS. Also, about Michelle Obama's wardrobe, she appeared on the view, and her entire outfit, including the dress, shoes, and jewelry, was less than $150. And it was in fact true, that Sarah Palin was basically there to get her name out, she doesn't care about this country in the least. But, as you can see Janet and Coleen, these Sarah Palin supporters are far more intelligent than we are! I mean, look at the BIG ole words they were using! And even more so, they continue supporting this udder disaster of a women, when their own party has turned against her, and all of the John Mcain presidential campaign. So, my message is, lay off of Tim McGraw, he is who he is! I mean, seriously, GET A LIFE, get a job, get an education, do something. Oh and, by the way, I believe that any one who does not believe in OBAMA's ways of thinking are nothing but low down racist incompetent people. I could go on for hours about this, but Im sorry, I have to go to my second job to pay for my ill mother's medical bills due to the republican's selfish ways of thinking.

Melissa, You are right, Mcain is not Bush.At least Dubya didnt fly 3 planes into the ground while in the air force and get commended just because his daddy was an Admiral. Wait a minute...that does sound like BUSH!!! Anyway, John Mcain was one of the Keating Five who gave money to Keating who took thousands of dollars from the savings and loan industry, due to kickbacks from the companies who re-did and built on and decorated Keatings home. Obama's association with Bill Ayers ended when he was on the same committee as him. The committee was to clean up Chicago neighborhoods. Obama ended his association with Rev. Wright publicly and is not going to his church anymore.Thus ends any associations he may have had.

Ok so Now I'm a moron. Whatever people. I said Tim was adopted. He was adopted by his stepfather. He never knew Tug was his father until he was a pre-teen. So that was correct. So how is that moronic. Also, Barack Obama, being the President-Elect, is already forming policy changes so he can "hit the ground running." And to PINCHE, so now you are a prophet and know that "things will get worse." You must be PINCHED in the head to think that McCain would have been better than OBAMA. He lost by a freaking landslide for a reason! And taxpayers DID pay for Palin's wardrobe because who do you think funds the RNC.Do you think it only runs on donations? Naive! SNL is the greatest show on television and I've been watching since the first night! So don't bash this great show. Sometimes I even know who the host is--and sometimes I don't!! If you don't like it, turn it off. AND Tina Fey and Amy Pohler rank in the top 10 cast members--maybe in the top five! Keep on going--I ain't dead yet!!
