Live from New York, it's Tim McGraw! The country superstar, actor and author is adding yet another role on his ever-growing resume: 'Saturday Night Live' host. The first country artist to serve as host this millennium, he joins an elite list that includes Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton as the few country artists in the history of the show asked to host."I'm looking forward to hosting the show," said McGraw. "I'm not exactly known for my comedy, but then again if you've been to one of my shows you might feel differently!"
McGraw's November 22 'SNL' show coincides with the release the following week of his new movie, 'Four Christmases.' McGraw says he hopes the comedic chops of his all-star cast in the movie rubbed off on him.
"Hopefully hanging around Vince Vaughn, Reese Witherspoon and Jon Favreau is good training," he says.
McGraw has been campaigning for a spot on 'SNL' for a long time. His agent, Rod Essig, tells Nashville's Tennessean newspaper that he called the producers of the show every week for five years. When Essig finally got the go-ahead, he delivered the news to McGraw himself, who couldn't believe it.
"No way, that's not true," McGraw responded. But once he was convinced, the country star wasted no time in giving Essig another goal to shoot for: "I want the halftime show at the Super Bowl one year, too."
Tim McGraw hosts 'Saturday Night Live' on November 22, 11:30 PM ET on NBC.

I don't intend to watch Saturday Night Live ever again. Their mean-spirited personal attacks on that great lady, Sarah Palin, made me ill. She was a good sport about it, but i don't have to be.

I guess after all of his sucking up to "in crowd" he can go on SNL and continue to kick Governor Palin just like all of the rest of his Hollyweird liberal friends. He can't sing and he ain't "country", and I won't listen to his or his wife's crappy music.

Tim and Faith were both everyday people b4 their talent got them where they are! In fact, both were adoptees in poverty stricken areas of Louisiana and Mississippi.
Sarah Palin is not "main street" and will never be with her Neiman Marcus wardrobe that the taxpayers paid for, not just for her but Todd Palin too. She never addressed the issues, she did what she wanted to, didnt listen to the republican "handlers" that she had so she ended up looking really bad intellectually. She was and McCain was also bad choices for vice and president. We need now a level headed, intelligent person like Barack Obama to clean up after the worst president the U. Tim was not adopted. Faith was adopted. Tim grew up with his birth mother but didn't know his father was Tug McGraw until he was a teenager. He had a stepfather who helped his mother raise him. He took Tug's last name later in life but used his mother's last name when he was younger.
