Shania Twain has returned to Nashville to be a presenter at tonight's CMA Awards, PEOPLE.com reports. It will mark the superstar's first public appearance since announcing her split from husband Robert "Mutt" Lange in May. Shania was spotted Tuesday night, dining with record label executives at hip Nashville eatery Flyte World Dining & Wine. On the way out, she greeted fans, with one observer commenting, "She looked gorgeous." Flyte's co-owner Scott Sears told PEOPLE, "She was charming and gracious. She and her party definitely enjoyed themselves."

For weeks, Music City has been buzzing about the surprise guest the Country Music Association has promised for the ABC telecast. Twain was the CMA's Entertainer of the Year in 1999, and last appeared on the awards show in 2004.
A source close to the singer says, "She loves Nashville and is excited to spend time with all her friends that live there. I would expect to see her more around town in the coming months."
The 42nd Annual CMA Awards air live tonight at 8 PM ET on ABC.
