Dolly Parton Sticks Up for Jessica Simpson

When The Boot asked Jessica Simpson to tell us one thing about Dolly Parton that fans might not know, she told us a heartwarming story about Dolly's graciousness.

"One time I was staying in a hotel in Austin, and the receptionist told me, 'Dolly Parton's here, and guess what she did today! She invited all of the housekeepers up to her suite, and they had tea.'" Simpson told us.

So during our recent chat with Dolly, we turned the tables, asking her to tell us something about Jessica that fans might not know.

"I think the main thing they may not know is just how sweet and precious she really is," Dolly said of Jessica. "It really gets under my skin to see them crucify her. She's a very sincere girl, she's extremely talented, she's very bright. I don't know why the press wants to pick on her. They don't know what a special person she is."

The title track to Jessica's first country album, 'Do You Know,' was written by Dolly, who also sings on the track.

"I was very honored that she even wanted me to write something for her," says Dolly. "I thought our voices blended together well. I was honored to get to sing with such a great singer."

jessica simpson maybe able to sing but she annoys the living heck out of me i just can't stand her and i don't like her music either dolly is allright but dolly's music i don't really care to much for. and let's face it when the chicken of the sea incident happened not only did she bring it on herself but made herself look incredibly,completely,and utterly stupid.

but that is just my opinion though

Howdy You All,
That's so nice of Dolly.I know someone who got suspended from work for 2wks. because Dolly sung a song with her on a break from Best Lil Whorehouse In Texas@Universal Studios.A lot of us girls never get to have fun without being faulted for it.I guess the moment was worth it!? Her Mom and sister and I worked for the outside set watchers.Just because the movie was real everyone mainly the guys were way too wild and she Dolly let them know it.That movie took a long time to finish.~Wanda~

Look people, we as a world need to stop being so critical of everyone. Not one of you that has nothing good to say. Is being looked at as perfect, because your not. And when we all see that our falts, are as bed as the next guy or girls. Then and only then we will be able to accept everyone, and make the world a better place.
Come on everyone ease up.

You know both Carrie and jessica are terrific singers,along with Dolly. Life is too precious and short to be gossiping about he said she said.Do we really know what went wrong?No, only Carrie,jessica,and Tony.So lets just let them alone.

Why do people enjoy tearing others down? Be gracious and learn to be secure in your own body,and see the goodness in others. Dolly is a class act, and Jessica is just trying to make it in this world...she is not a mean person at all. Perhaps, those that are negative should do some soul searching....you might be happier when you look at the good in people.

Dolly. Dolly. Dolly. Do they get any better than the supreme Miss Dolly? I have been a Dolly fan for decades. The woman reeks of kindness and good spirit. All around the world people light up when you mention Dolly Parton. She is bigger than life but humble. Talented....without question. Now Jessica Simpson deserves a little teasing. No one forced to her to play Daisy Duck and look like a dumb blonde. But as Dolly would say "It costs a lot to look this cheap." Simpson honey, you are on the right track if you heed Dolly Parton. And Dolly, if by chance you are reading this fluff, I love you. Thank you for everything. Would you consider playing at my wedding should Prop 8 get repealed? :) PLEASE?
