Hank Williams, Jr. palled around with Alaska Governor Sarah Palin during her vice-presidential bid, making several stops with her on the campaign trail in support of the GOP ticket. Now it appears that Bocephus may have political aspirations of his own. "You might be looking at the next senator from Tennessee, if this keeps up. And I ain't kidding!" Hank Jr. told Music City TV last week.
While he has yet to form an exploratory committee, establish a campaign headquarters, or officially declare himself a candidate for the office, Hank Jr. said he has recently talked to former Tennessee Senators Bill Frist and Fred Thompson.
Hank also revealed that Governor Palin's kids are huge fans of another pal of his -- Kid Rock. So, he put Kid on the phone with Palin and her children during 'Monday Night Football' last week. Naturally, they were surprised. Hank says they shrieked with delight.
"They were, 'Oh God!' It was funny. It was really funny," says Hank.

Hank some of your songs are good, some are so so. Your father got you started in music.. But I don't think you have the judgement or knowledge to be a Senator of the State of Alabama, and if anyone votes for you because of your music is destroying the great State of Alabama..

Alabama!!!!!! Try Tennesse!! No wounder this country is going to hell in a hand basket. Most of it CAN'T FREAKING READ!!!!!!!

I don't know where you got Alabama from the article. He will be running for Tennessee. But I do agree that he doesn't have the qualifications necessary to run for Senate. And, if you listen to his songs, Jim Beam tried to kill him in 1973 so, yeah, his judgement may be impaired.

I'll admitt, I didn't catch the Tenn. Run. All I know is he lived in AlABAMA and is a a good ALABMA FAN.. So do you VOLS want him? If he chances to the VOLS. then you know he is like all policatians...
So, like I said I like some of his songs but not all. Do you want a man that had Drugs and drinking and has no family values at all with all his divorces and woman chasing he does be your senator, go for it. I say you need to study a person for what they really stand for. Not because they sing songs that make you feel good. Wake up Southerns..

Bamagandy, et al. Wrong state aside, you're right. Hank is famous ONLY because he had famous ancestors, not because of any innate talent. And he's also derivative and unoriginal in his choices and whom he chooses to follow and "pal" around with. He lacks judgement, wisdom and, obviously, taste and genuine pride.
Hey Grannie Reat 11-17-2008
How about reading the article.....It is Tennessee.
cygnusx56at 11-18-2008
I respectfully disagree with you KJR. Tooling around with Palin, Frist, and Thompson shows better judgement and wisdom than Obama has shown in tooling around with Wright, Ayers, Acorn, and the lot. You may disagree with Palin's politics, which you're certainly entitled to do, but Ayers is a known terrorist and anarchist, Wright is a racist. and Acorn attempted voter fraud on an unprecedented level. No defending Obama's associations with those sorts.

Bamagandy: "Do you want a man that had Drugs and drinking and has no family values at all with all his divorces and woman chasing he does be your senator...." - I take it this means you wouldn't vote for Ted Kennedy. - As for voting for someone because of his music: Barack Obama was just elected President, greatly becaause of millions of people who voted for him strictly because he is black, even though his politics are completely at odds withy the political beliefs of most of those people! It's too bad that my choices, Colin Powell/Condoleeza Rice weren't running. They would have made a great ticket! I say, "go for it, Hank!" Anything would be an improvement over what's coming up for the next four years!

It's JUDGMENT and what qualifications did the governor of California have? Terminator, End of Days? What about Jesse the Body Ventura? Don't judge people.

Once again, we have people commenting on a blog without knowing what in the world they are talking about. First off, as it has been pointed out many times already, it's Tennessee, not Alabama. Second, Jr. has made it much bigger than his daddy could have ever dreamed of. As far as the whiskey almost killing him in 1973...that was over 30 years ago...and who here hasn't done a bit too much drinking in their younger years? As far as him not knowing anything about politics, how do any of you know what he knows? He doesn't talk about them to his audiences, does that mean he knows nothing about them? I can guarantee most making stupid comments against him, are Democrats, just so you know I am Independent, and voted for Obama, before you start bashing me and my beliefs. There have been a few other celebs that have made the jump to politics and did a good job at it. So before assuming what you think he knows and doesn't know, why don't you wait to see if he decides to run and what he has to say about what he knows then. Do you people really have nothing better to do than assume you know anything at all about celebrities because you've heard their music, watched a show or movie they starred in? Get real, you don't know them from Adam.

i think he loves america more, believes in actually working hatder, believes in individual rights more, and would be tougher with our enemies than any of the democrat socialist cowards you and others have elected to lead this country now.

Yeah, and the people of Tennessee who gave us eight years of Bush et al. will probably go for it. Tennessee is one of those states it is great to be from--AWAY from.
