Miranda Lambert Is Hunting Hero

In a "Heroes vs. Villains" face-off, Field & Stream magazine declared avid huntress Miranda Lambert its greatest hero of 2008, while crowning California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger its biggest villain. According to the Los Angeles Times, Miranda was cited for writing lyrics reflecting her fondness for the outdoors. (They must have heard her fireside 'Bare Skin Rug' duet with boyfriend Blake Shelton).

Other heroes cited in the magazine's December issue include Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, and actor, musician, and angler Kevin Costner.

Bad news, though, for Pamela Anderson, Paul McCartney and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, who all earned "villain" status for their animal-rights activism.

Schwarzenegger, who was criticized for, among other things, supporting gun-control measures, advanced to a face-off against Miranda, with the magazine proclaiming, "Thanks to him, nobody in California might hunt or fish again."

Yet, in the "hero-versus-villain" final, "The Terminator" prevailed because he has "slashed funds for salmon and steelhead restoration, and he'd close down state recreation areas where hunting and fishing are now permitted. Worst of all, he'll 'be back' in 2009."

No, worst of all, if Ah-nuld hasn't heard 'Gunpowder and Lead' or 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,' he has no idea just how much worse things could get!
