Kristy Lee Cook Parts Ways With Label

'American Idol' alum Kristy Lee Cook has parted ways with Arista Nashville once again. The country singer was first signed to the record label in 1999, also inking a deal two years later with BMI and with Britney Spears' production company as its first signed artist. Cook was dropped from the label before any music was released.

Cook did release an album on an independent label, Ren-Hen Records, in 2005. But 'Idol' was her big break, as she made it to the Top 7 on the seventh season of the wildly popular show. She signed with Arista shortly after the show wrapped, releasing her debut album, 'Why Wait,' this past September. Its first single, '15 Minutes of Shame,' hit the Top 30, but no other singles from the album were officially released to country radio.

I like her . she has an ok voice. I thin that if they would have released one more single of hers she would have done ok. I really like the song off her album called "Not Tonight" Carrie Underwood co-wrote it and its a really good song. go play it and you will like it

Rueben Studdard, Bo Bice, Carrie Underwood, Fantasia, the list goes on. The truth is, these people have no talent. But put someone on TV and tell the masses he or she is "Your next American Idol" and people can't buy their dreck fast enough. Judge for yourselves people. Don't let three industry hacks tell you who's talented. Because they don't have a clue. And neither do you.

Kristy was placed on the show by the record industry anyway. She had record deals like 3 times, amd the industry was determined to force us to like her. Well sorry, we ain't that gullible, haha.

She didn't play the game right anyway, she kept singing pop even when the judges/producers kept telling her to sing country. "Oh gee, I bet you could ding a real good Country song..."... duh, they knew she already recorded Country before. Finally she sings God Bless the USA and all is made them happy, kept her alive another couple weeks.

She was one of the many pro connected that Idol placed in the show anyway. It's all big business and these contestants managers already have the inside track going in, promos and demos already in producers hands. It's all rigged now, and screw the real amateurs. Cook, Archy, Carly, Kristy, all of em, all prepped ready to go by the record industry. I'm sick of it.

A Girl Like Me

I think that her voice has improved since American Idol. I didn't think that she deserved to be in the top 7 either. However, the one single that dropped from her CD, I think is a good one. It's gotten to #4 on GAC's Top 20 countdown, and it's doing well on the charts. I don't think she deserved to be dropped from her record label yet again.

Wrong year bro. Kristy was last year, Carrie was like 2 years ago (along with Kellie Pickler). But yeah Carrie is fantastic! I saw her live concert, and she doesn't miss a note, even ADDS a few extra! One of the last true amateurs to make it thru idol. Kristy (and Taylor Swift, and Jessica Simpson, and the one from Dancing with the stars, etc..), are wannabe Country... Carrie is the real deal!

never heard of her, and dont really care. how many of artist's are signed cuz they are good looking or not signed cuz they are ugly or fat. see? romeo void great band label wanted to get rid of singer cuz she was not exactly pretty

there he is again, David Cook.I just picture flies flying around him that little kid on Peanuts that was always so scuffy. I don't remember there being a person that I had a harder time looking at than David he's just so messy looking, the hair the beard, it just like someone who just got out of bed. Somebody give the boy a make over, many he needs it and then he'll be complete since he does have a decent voice.

she sucked on american idol.....and the label saved production for an album that would have sucked. HOORAY FOR A LABEL GETTING SOMETHING RIGHT FOR ONCE.

i can't stand her.
