Kid Rock Conducts Friendly 'Science Experiment'

Kid Rock has proven he can make music that defies all genres and still appeals to listeners. His latest album, 'Rock N Roll Jesus,' is at double-platinum sales status and climbing. His Grammy-nominated single 'All Summer Long' went No. 1 in the U.S., as well as in six other countries, and is being played on rock, pop and country stations.

"It's the music I love. It's who I am as a person. People say I'm creatively confused or whatever they call it, but I just honestly enjoy music," he tells CMT.

That confusion may transcend into his social life, as well. With a wide circle of friends that encompasses everyone from rappers to country folk, Kid Rock finds that his eclectic life helps him creatively.

"I have a house in California, so whenever I have dinner over there, it's like my science experiment of how many different people I can get to come over," he explains. "I'll get Josh Groban, Kenny Chesney, my rapper buddy and this guy from the Eagles ... I really enjoy that in life. Bringing people together is one of my favorite things. I believed that's what a rock 'n' roll Jesus would really do -- bring people together through music."

However, one person who may not be a fan of Kid Rock's music is his own mother. While he insists that most moms adore him, his own would like to see him tone down the language a bit. "She'll hear songs and say, 'Why do you have to say that stuff?'" He told her, "Some people enjoy it, Mom."

I am a 65 year old grandmother whose grandkids love the idea I am a Kid Rock fan. I agree with his mother, I don't like all the words and inferences in some of his music but I love the Soul of Robert Richie. He does well to cover it up for reasons known only to him but that is his business. He has a gentle and kind soul within him. When I am down, all I have to do is tune in some of his music and my soul soars. For that I am grateful and for those who don't understand let me borrwo a phrase from the Kid - "I don't give a damn."
You are a good Soul Robert Richie and I'm sure I'm not the only one who has seen it.

Anyone that says Kid Rock has no talent is an uninformed asshole. I am 46, saw him at the Harley 105 in Milwaukee, must admit, didn't know much about him bfore that. He put on a kick ass show, and is a huge talent. Come back to the states Kid, I wanna see you again. Anyone that thinks he sucks, wanna back it up? My email is gbman162@aol.com, I'm willing to kick some major ass in kids defense. Im spending the night much as kid probably is, with my 2 favorite ladies.....*uck off losers!!!! And any loser sissy pants man that thinks this is disqusting, face it poindexter, you never had the opportunity.

I completely agree with his mother. She sounds like a woman who has a decent head on her shoulders and some taste. I have yet to figure out why this world has gotten to the point where everywhere you go you hear the most disgusting vulgar foul mouth language. I'm talking everywhere from elementary age kids and up, especially teens. So what's the deal? Those of you who say f*** this, and f*** that and sh** and all the rest of the stuff, does it make you feel good? Does it make you feel cool? important? intelligent? (THAT IT DOES NOT, I can tell you). Does it give you a feeling of power? control? what? I can't figure it out. And the crazy thing is - you'll hear it from your high-powered executive who thinks he's hot stuff and Mr. All Important to the low-life white trash teenager walking in front of your house on the way to school. When did it become completely socially acceptable to speak so offensively to anyone at any time? I can tell you this, if you worked in my employ you didn't utter a single phrase of anything like this in my places of employment. If I hear it in my presence I will say something to you. It continues you will be on the street. Now people try not to speak like this in front of children. So if it's not acceptable for children, why is it acceptable for adults to hear? As far as I'm concerned you're invading my space when I have to be subjected to such vulgar offensive behavior. To me it's no different than if you decided to take off all your clothes and show your ugly body to me. Your mouth is probably even more offensive to me than your naked butt. So I'm waiting for someone to explain to me why so many in our society find it necessary to carry on a conversation with so many terms and expressions that are considered offensive to society? I want to know how it makes you feel. So, OK world, this is your chance to justify it.

You obviously dont like him so why are you commenting on here. You are showing no signs of intelligence. I'll never understand why people take time out of their day to post on stuff if they hate it soo much it doesnt make sense. Your only going by his songs and the swear words in that. Do you even get that its just a joke? Hes just a great guy that likes to have fun he has done soo many different kinds of music and plays all different kinds of instruments. Out of all the success he has had your going to find a song with a swear word in it and say thats his downfall? You dont know anything. You dont even know what kind of person he is so shut up.

I'm always amazed when some people insist on taking seriously such total lightweights as Kid Rock, Michael Jackson, or other vapid celebs.

Sorry, the emperor has no clothes.

to the fella that says Kid Rock has no talent-i am not a big fan, but went to a concert with a friend of mine that is huge fan and he played every instrument on the stage, and that includes saxophone!-yes he gets in trouble, yes his morals and stuff is questionable, you can add him to long list of other performers, musical, actors, etc. but you cant say he cant sing or has not talent as that is completely untrue.

Well why is it when someone says something that is not supportive or what you think you want to hear you are quick to jump all on someone?? Well, if someone does not like kid rock, they are entitled to that opinion. Not everyone has the same taste. So grow up people.. Thats why they have different styles of music . In relation to the article that states kid rock as saying to his mom in relation to having to include filthy talk. His reaction is , cause some people like that. Huh? Can someone explain to me why someone would appreciate gutter trash talk? I'd be interested to hear this one.
