Wynonna Partners With Weight-Loss Drug

No artist in country music has waged a more personal and public battle with food addiction and weight gain than Wynonna Judd. Now, in an effort to promote a healthier lifestyle for herself and her fans, Judd has signed on to be the face of over-the-counter weight loss aid alli.

In addition to a national television campaign launching this week, Wynonna will appear in a series of print ads to begin later this month. She's also scheduled to participate in promotional giveaways and contests for the popular weight-loss product throughout the year.

The TV spot, which was shot in Nashville, features Judd sharing her story of finding ways to be healthier through the alli program.

"Alli has allowed me a sense of well-being," says Judd. "I've passed up a lot of products, but with alli I have choices over what I can eat and flexibility; it fits into my schedule. The fact that it is FDA-approved really struck a chord with me because that means it has been thoroughly tested and is safe. I hope that I can inspire people to be better ... that they can see themselves in me and say, 'If she can do it, I can do it.'"

Wynonna's seventh studio album, 'Sing,' offers her unique versions of pop, rock and country standards including 'Till I Get It Right,' by Tammy Wynette, Nat "King" Cole's 'When I Fall In Love,' and 'Ain't No Sunshine' by Bill Withers. The album is set for release on February 3.

Alli was tested and released several years ago under the name Xenical. Xenical was available via prescription only. Once a drug is determined to have little risk of abuse and availability is beneficial to the public, it is often released as an OTC. This was done with ulcer, allergy, and many other drugs.
With Alli, like Xenical, if you eat too much fat, you will have gastrointestinal consequences. Nothing like diarrhea to learn a little behavior modification!

I hope it works for you darling girl. I wish I could take something that would take the addiction away. I have to take all kinds of pills, (pain, high blood pressure, etc. and my Doctor won't even talk about me taking a pill. I have gained nearly 100 pounds since I have begun seeing this doctor and I still am in so much pain I can hardly stand or walk and I just know if I could have help and lose weight my life would be better. My kids worry I will die with all this weight on me. Scares me too. Did your Doc give you permission to take this? My Granddaughter takes it and has lost some. I will keep my eye on you and BEST OF LUCK and with all you talent and good looks, you have it made, but you may spark some interest in us other OW'S (OVER WEIGHTS). HUGS AND LOVE TO YOU.

Oh, Lord. I tried "Alli" once and I would save everyone that suffering if I could. In addition to the more well known and gross side effect, I had the worst back and muscle pain I've ever had. It didn't go away for a month after I quit taking Alli. Don't do it! It's not worth it!

Ugh, Alli is bad for you! Just because it is "FDA" approved, does not mean it is safe either! The FDA is about as corrupt as they come and the $$$$$ run deeep. Mike Adams from naturalnews.com did a report on the dangers of this Alli. I lost weight by eating lots of raw organic foods and exercise and natural food supplements, not synthetic! Also, watch the glycemic load and cleanse the liver.

I used alli last year and lost over 30 pounds, with no ill effects. Have almost gained it all back, but that was my fault not the alli's. If you pay attention to what you eat and not go overboard on the fat content of your food you will not have the "nasty" side effects.
