The Boot was invited inside Thornton's Beverly Hills home to talk about his country-rock band, The Boxmasters. And after our chat about music, we couldn't help but probe the Arkansas-native on matters a little more personal, resulting in revelations about fatherhood, his dream drinking buddy and his ongoing relationship with an oh-so-famous ex.
What's the craziest rumor you've ever heard about yourself?
One that was bizarre was that I only eat orange food. It was in the papers for two or three years! I used to go to this one hotel and have breakfast there and only order a plate of papaya and coffee, and those hotel people always talk about you to the media. So I think someone must have said, "All he ever orders is papaya," and it must have come from that.

President Obama, 1st im glad you won, congrats, now the reason America was the strongest for so many decades was because we could afford the drive 500 to 1000 miles to find work in another state wherever the work was n its didnt cost us an arm or a leg to go.gas should never get above $1.50 cent per gallon, at its worst, because we should be able to afford to visit our family in another State and start over with new jobs, most americans survive on less than poverty wages but we can drive a thousand miles live in our car for a few days and get another job to save our homes, this sucks right now, Sir, please fix this problem, my solution? tell them if they dont drop thier terrible charges they can eat a crude oil sandwich, meaning charge ten times what the price of flour chould be for this crap, place an embargo on them. and to repay this bail out you should put an extra $.50 cents or a maximum of one dollar per bottle for hard alchohol and you will repay the national debt in four years Sir.

Mike, how did you lose your house to gas at 4 bucks a gallon. It wasn't that high that long and I live in California, where it's the highest, and I am single and managed to keep my home. I am thinking something else was happening, like to much house for your income to begin with and no breathing room? I see lenders do this daily to new buyers. I am also a mobile notary for realestate, so I really do see this. I am sorry for your loss and I hope things get better for you very soon, but a few months of high gas prices was not the sole reason.

Actually Gas prices were over 4 dollars a gallon , almost 5 in Michigan. Plus the fact that Mike had a family and you could have been single Bindy, meaning Mike could have a higher gas/electric, water , sewer, insur. rates, doctor bills, shall I keep going. Yes I can hear you say, but that doesn't have a thing to do with gasoline, well it does if you have to travel far and wide to pay the bills at a job that is or was makeing ends meet. Maybe he lost his job cause he couldn't afford to get there.
I am still trying to figure out who's to blame for this mess, but I can tell you it's going to be a long time before it goes back to normal.

I feel a change is needed and that the right person is there. If you want to be a critic there are other more worse things going on in this world to have strong opinions of then what she said believe me other people have said worse than that. People should stop trying to read so much in to things. It should not have taken this long to have a Black President and the fact that it is such a big deal should be even worse to me because Blacks helped build this country so its not like we didn't put in on making this such a great place to live! And the fact that this is suppose to be the land of the free and the home of the brave, doesn't make me feel that when we have to make a big deal out of something that should be a given for any American that is doing the right thing in life. There are somethings I am not proud of about America and alot of things that i am proud of but it should be Equal Opportunity for All Not just whats White is right. (I mean that to the nay sayers of this country) because i know not all whites feel that way and thank GOD for that.

I am proud of America for finally seeing that it does not matter where you come from, what your skin color is or any of the other things that people worry about if you are running for any office. Politicians are people too and they too make mistakes in life. Life is a lesson we all learn as we go and there is only one person in this world that is perfect. That is the man that some of us pray to if we choose. And that to is part of being American...the right to make your own decesions of religion. If you could find one person that has not made any mistakes or had any regrets, please put their name on the election ballot in 4 years.

I did not vote for Obama nor did I support him. But I think as this time the American thing to do is stand behind your president and hope for the best. I hope he can get us out of this mess but I also know we're going to have some hard times for the next couple of years. This will not be an easy fix. And also, if you lost your house because gas was $4 a gallon, you were clearly over-extended to begin with. The increase on prices cannot soley be blamed for your misfortune. Next time, try a finanical adviser before you get in over your head.
