Is Justin Timberlake practicing his best Tim McGraw impersonation? The sports blog Beacher Report is speculating that a movie, starring Timberlake and Jeff Bridges, is likely based on the father-son relationship between Tug and Tim McGraw.'The Open Road' stars Bridges as a retired baseball star who reunites with his estranged son, played by Timberlake. There's no official word on whether or not the film is based -- or even loosely based -- on the McGraws. But there are several similarities between the movie's plot and the real-life story of the country star and his baseball legend dad:
1 - Timberlake's character doesn't find out until later in life that Bridges' character is his father. / Tim grew up thinking his step-father was his real dad but at age 11 found his birth certificate, discovering the truth.
2 - Timberlake and Bridges' characters are estranged for years until reuniting for a road trip. / Tug denied his paternity for several years, and didn't develop a relationship with Tim until around 1984.
3 - The movie was shot in Hammond, La., just three hours away from McGraw's hometown of Delhi, La.
'The Open Road' is listed as being in post-production. A release date has yet to be announced.
