Dolly Parton Is on Her Rocker

Look out for a bright pink rocking chair the next time you get your fill of chicken and dumplings at Cracker Barrel. Country legend Dolly Parton has partnered with the restaurant to create a special edition of its signature rocker -- Dolly style. It is currently for sale alongside some other Dolly goodies: a book of photos spanning her life and a collectors' edition of her hit album, 'Backwoods Barbie,' featuring three new tunes.

"We both represent family and that down home feeling," Dolly told The Boot of her project with Cracker Barrel.

The expanded version of the 'Backwoods Barbie' CD includes the new songs 'Berry Pie,' 'Hallelujah Holiday' and 'Rose of My Heart.' Dolly thought 'Berry Pie' would be especially fitting because, she says, "it's a little love song that's happy and joyful, but it's about making a berry pie for a guy -- 'cause the way to a man's heart is through his stomach!"

The Boot happened to be on the phone with Dolly just minutes after news broke of her receiving the Academy of Country Music's 2009 Jim Reeves International Award, which is presented to a country music artist who has proven international success. So, we asked her why she feels she's known all over the world, whereas other country singers tend to have a hard time gaining popularity outside of the U.S.

"I've been around a long time," Dolly humbly answered. "So maybe this [award] is just people saying, 'Hey, you're an old lady. We're gonna give you this... now go home!'"

I don't think there is an album, or cassett or cd that she has made that I don't have. I have been a fan since I sat on my Daddy's lap to watch her show. I love her music and she is trully an Angel here on Earth. God broke the mold after he made her. She is trully an American Idol. To all the Haters. What have you done so great with you life?? God Bless you, Dolly.

I have loved Dolly for over 20 years. I have every album she has ever recorded and I also have two of the Pink Rockers. My mom bought me one and I bought the other. I have seen her in concert once and at Dollywood several times. She is amazing. I hope that she NEVER retires! I don't want her to ever go!!!xoxoxox

Too bad the restaurant sucks now! Service stinks, portions stink, recipes stink and thats nation wide! We've tried many, many CB's and each one is lacking!

Dolly has been and always will be a class act and a saavy business woman. She is a shining example of a woman putting her mind to something and accomplishing it.

The rocking chairs are on a price level with the same chairs at several different places, and actually cheaper than some. I'm not sure about a pink one but, the butterfly sounds like a pretty addition.
Dolly is what she is and that's something we all can learn from. :-)

I live close to Dolly's hometown and have met some of her family. I once met a cousin of her's who told me that "being related to Dolly never made him a dime, but then why should it." Dolly has made it well and done it with respect and honesty, but never spread much of it around. Her being from Sevierville and the Pigeon Forge area itself has been a positive for the area. She owns a big share of the woodland there too. I am the same age as she is and remember quite well when she sang on the Farm and Home Hour with Cas Walker, a local grocer here when she was pure flat chested long before she elevated Porter Waggoner. We all chuckled around here when she overdid the implants but it became her signature...from flat to fat to rich and famous.
