Doug Stone Arrested on Domestic Battery Charges

Doug Stone is behind bars in a Bay County, Fla. jail, after being arrested on domestic battery charges. Police responded to a domestic disturbance call early Thursday morning at a Panama City condominium, where they found the 52-year-old country singer on the floor, with his 22-year-old son in a headlock.

This happened just one hour after Stone wrecked his car. Police were called to the scene of that incident, as well, but they let Stone go, even though they say he appeared intoxicated. Stone was standing outside the car when police arrived, so they couldn't prove that he was behind the wheel at the time of the accident. They insisted he have the car towed and sent him on his way.

Stone had 15 Top Ten hits in the '90s, including the chart-toppers 'In a Different Light,' 'Why Didn't I Think of That,' 'A Jukebox With a Country Song' and 'Too Busy Being in Love.' He also acted in the Disney movie, 'Gordy.'

This is not Stone's first run-in with the law. He spent six months in jail back in 2005 for failing to pay alimony and child support, and failing to release his financial records.

To those thinking this was only a headlock...guess again. Stone is very violent and abusive (much like Tracy Lawrence). He's been in trouble in the past for beating his wife. I'd bet money he wasn't just horseplaying with his son. He should have been arrested for driving drunk. Probably would have saved his son from this latest beating.

my 19yo nephew was killed by a drunk "passenger" who was let to go on his way becuz of people like you jjoekiker..come out the PASSENGER was the driver but when the OTHER people who was there claimed he wasn`t driving either but hmmm guess he was when about 2miles down the road he lost control of his truck crossed the medium and shoved the motor into the lap of my nephew plus almost killing my brother...guess he was just a harmless idiot too right jjoekiker...so I guess doug stone`s friends wouldn`t lie for him too..I didnt comment about him&his son becuz his son is an adult but I still say LOCK UP the drunk drivers!!I always liked his music too but that doesn`t make him any better than anyone else
