With the plethora of awards shows and special events she's attended, Taylor Swift has amassed quite a collection of beautiful gowns. There's one dress in particular that the country superstar is ready to part with, and she's giving fans the chance to hang it in their own closet. Taylor has donated the cream and gold Jessica McClintock gown she wore to her high school prom to Hearst Magazines' DonateMyDress.org. DonateMyDress coordinates local dress drives across the U.S., to help girls who can't afford the perfect dress for their special occasion.
"I chose to give away this prom dress because I wore it once and loved it," Taylor says. "To keep it around, hanging there all by itself and lonely in my closet, never to be worn again seemed a little pointless. I want another girl somewhere to feel good in it and have a great prom night because of this dress."
During the first DonateMyDress celebrity auction, Taylor's dress fetched $1,200. Dresses were also donated by two of Swift's BFFs, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato.
