"We have so many artists coming together for this cause," says Big Kenny, who came up with the idea for the benefit, which will take place at Nashville's Schermerhorn Symphony Center. "We're gonna have everything from bluegrass to rock 'n roll and kids from around the world on the stage."
The concert will support charitable causes in the African countries of Uganda and Sudan. Big Kenny believes the event will raise enough money to build a school in Uganda and buy supplies for a school he helped build last year in Sudan. Money raised will also help to buy medical supplies for the area.
"The school in Sudan will help 1,000 girls who were brought out of slavery or have been orphaned to have a chance to get an education for the first time," Big Kenny explains. "We hope by continuing to raise awareness and support through the African Children's Choir and aid outreach, we will continue to let love shine through the terrible violence that so many of God's children there have endured."
Big Kenny explains that not only is the concert for a good cause, it is a one-of-a-kind event in Nashville. "With that many artists onboard, you know there are gonna be some special moments at this show," he says. "If you don't come you're gonna hear about it and say 'I wish I'd been there!'."
