The trio now fronted by Natalie Maines was once a quartet, founded by sisters Martie and Emily Erwin with Laura Lynch and Robin Lynn Macy, who shared lead vocals. The Texas natives got their name from the song 'Dixie Chicken' by the rock band Little Feat. Historically, "Dixie" refers to 11 states, including Texas, which seceded the Union during the Civil War. Macy seceded from the Chicks in 1992, Lynch in 1995. Maines took over lead vocals, and the rest is unprecedented musical history.Download Dixie Chicks Songs
