"The strange thing is this was the second time this happened to us on the road," drummer Chris Thompson tells The Boot, explaining that both times they've avoided catastrophe -- this time due to a good Samaritan.
"We stopped at a truck stop," says lead singer Mike Eli, "and someone put a note on our window that said, 'Hey, you're trailer's about to break off.'"
It's the more deliberate mishaps that have left the country-rockers red-faced at their live shows.
"We've had a lot of embarrassing moments," Mike tells The Boot. "My birthday last year, someone put a piñata on stage ... What I didn't know was there were a bunch of unmentionables inside the piñata. That was embarrassing when I broke it in front of several thousand people. And my family was there since it was my birthday!"
The guys also admit they sometimes embarrass themselves when it comes to a certain online addiction -- Twitter.
"I've probably regretted drinking and tweeting!" guitarist James Young reveals. "I'd have to go back and reread."
"There's been some twittering I might not have realized I didn't use English," echoes Mike. "I need to go back and check it out."
Give these guys a T.U.I.
Before our interview with the band, The Boot used our own Twitter to ask if any fans had questions for "the uber-talented Eli Young Band." One famous fan replied back:
"Tell them I said, how does it feel to be 'uber-talented'?" tweeted Joe Bonsall of the Oak Ridge Boys.
"Wow," responded Mike when we read him Joe's tweet. "It just feels cool to get a question from him!"
