John Rich Kicked Out of Nashville Bar

John Rich can't seem to stay on the right side of the law lately. After his arrest last week following an alleged assault on aspiring singer Jared Ashley, the country star is under fire again for alleged rowdy behavior at a popular Nashville restaurant.

Around 2:45 AM Tuesday morning, John reportedly walked into Cafe Coco and ordered a beer. The bartender informed him that he would have to finish his beverage by 3:00 AM, per state laws. John then asked to borrow a guitar, and began playing a few songs for the remaining patrons inside the bar, including a local TV news crew and a police sergeant. At 3:00 AM, while John was in the middle of a Roger Miller song, the bartender asked John to give up his beer, which he was unwilling to do.

"You don't interrupt me when I'm playing a Roger Miller song," John said defiantly, according to MusicCityTV.com. The server responded by saying, "I'll just take it then," which caused John to angrily grab the beer bottle from the server's hands and throw it over a fence, right in front of the police sergeant.

The officer advised John that he needed to leave immediately, which he did, without any criminal charges.

Poor Johns having a time of it, but I'd trade my problems for his any day of the week....if everything else came with it. The talent, wealth and stardom. How about you? I live in downtown Nashville and have personally witnessed many of John Rich’s antics. His reputation here is well earned. These events are just the latest in a very long series of self-destructive attention seeking behaviors.

I personally feel sorry for Rich.

He is a self-important alcoholic who does not remember where he came from. With all of his money and celebrity he is notorious for his treatment of our local musicians. Maybe that doesn’t sound like much here on the internet but in “Music City” that is big. Our local musicians are not paid by the honky tonks, they work exclusively for tips and when one of the wealthiest musicians in town walks into their joint, the guys and girls on stage can usually count on some antics from Rich, usually involving him taking over the microphone and ending with him NEVER placing even a single dollar in the tip jar.

If I were Rich’s manager (God forbid!) I would advise him that he would serve his image better if he would spend his extensive drinking time in his own private bar on Broadway. That way he could hang with his friends and his public image damage would be limited by his network of friends and employees.

Hopefully Rich will someday understand that he has been blessed with a great talent and not squander the great opportunities he has been given.

John Rich has let his 5 minutes of fame go to his head! So what, he wrote and sung a few novelty songs, now he thinks he the king of all Nashville. Hey John, you are an ass! Time to go away and disappear! Your nothing but an embarrassment to country music.

Actually Mark, Grethen Wilson now lives in the house that Barbara Mandrell owned in Hendersonville. John lives on Love Circle. His new home is also on Love Circle right around the corner from where he lives now. And yes, I have been to his home.
