Miranda Lambert has never made it a point to hide her tomboy ways. And she seems to know just where many of those traits originated.Referencing a recent incident during which her dad, retired police officer Rick Lambert, was asked to get rid of the gun he was carrying before entering a bar, Miranda tells Chicago radio station US 99.5, "That's where I get it from. He's an extremist a little bit." Miranda proudly boasts that her dad is "definitely your American Republican man. He is just 100% country, Texas, so yeah, it's rubbed off on me a little bit."
Miranda's own gun-wielding ways recently got her into her a little bit of trouble, too. On a Easter evening hog hunt with boyfriend Blake Shelton, Miranda slipped and fell into in a creek. "When I pulled my pants leg up, it was a really really bad cut on my knee," she says. "It was right before the first Kenny Chesney show so, not real smart on my part. I had to limp around the stage for the first couple shows, but I'm good now."
Miranda admits she was fearful Kenny would be upset that she'd been so careless, but says the exact opposite occurred. "The first couple shows where I couldn't really walk and I was crippled.. I got made fun of by Kenny, for my knee. He didn't care...he found humor in it."
Currently opening for Kenny alongside Lady Antebellum, whom she calls "awesome," Miranda and company will also be joined by Montgomery Gentry on select dates, a situation which already has the singer on guard.
"Every time I've ever played with Eddie [Montgomery] and Troy [Gentry], I've gotten sick. I'm not gonna go on the bus ... I'll keep my distance from the moonshine."

I don't understand AOL's obsession with "country people" lately? Usually AOL just sits and tells us all how great the Dixie Chicks are, and how "brave" the Dixie Chicks are. That Rich guy comes across as a jerk, but what musician doesn't? AOL just hates Rich because he has been on FOX TV, and AOL/CNN have 1/10th the audience of FOX. I doubt there are many conservative "country types" on here anymore anyway. Why would you want to be insulted every time you sign in? I even recall a post on AOL when that bridge collapsed on the Mississippi 2 years ago in Minneapolis. The New Yorker actually had the nerve to say "why do these bad things happen in hick states?" Never mind the fact that this country got into a war because of those people in New York that got bombed in the trade centers. Like I really cared about them either.

You're a moron for several reasons. Here, let me explain.
#1) You think you're such a great American because you think going to war after 4000 people were killed by terrorists was a waste of time, since most of the 4000 were in New York. Nevermind the fact that the war we are in now has nothing to do with 9/11, and everything do with oil.
#2) Conservatives aren't the only ones who listen to country music. I'm a Democrat, and I listen to more country than any other genre of music. I don't care about their political views, just whether or not their music is any good.
#3)I don't know what AOL you are signing in to, but the one I see is conservative (read: republican) leaning for quite some time.
#4) Give the "us against them" bulls**t a rest. We're ALL Americans, whether you like it or not.
