Kid Rock took home the Wide Open Country Video of the year award for his No. 1 crossover smash, 'All Summer Long.''I was supposed to thank two people and I already forgot who it was," Kid Rock said, obviously frazzled by the win. "I think this was based on creativity, this award. Because what's more creative than a stripper pole on a pontoon boat?"
Kid Rock has become a fixture in Nashville, even buying a condo downtown and collaborating with some of the town's top songwriters. He hugged good friend and Nashville neighbor, Sheryl Crow, before accepting his award.

Hey, here's an idea, how about thanking Warren Zevon and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Remember tthe, the guys you ripped off for 3/4 of your song? What a dumbass, maybe now he can afford a bottle of shampoo and a comb. What a loser !

Yes he should have thanked zevon and skynrd, but he did get zevon's permission to use the music before he put the song out, before zevon died. so he didnt rip him off. dont know about whether or not he got skynrds permission or blessing tho.

Hmm...someone obviously hasn't listened to any other Kid Rock songs. If you had, you would hear him credit other artists who influenced him, or who he has sampled. Remember, he started his career in hip-hop, then moved on to rock, and now a hybrid country feel. The man has more talent to have crossed these genres than all these cookie cutter artists you're hearing in all those genres in today's current music scene. So do your research before you trash talk, because it just makes you look foolish and petty.

Uh do some research folks, Kid Rock and Lynyrd Skynyrd are friends and as a matter of fact, the late great Billy Powell (Lynyrd Skynyrd pianist) plays the outro and the end of the song. So that being said I'm fairly certain that he had their permission.
Yes it would have been nice to thank Zevon, Skynyrd & even Bob Seger. Why Seger? The lyrical structure, particularly in the opening verse, is so obviously a tip of the hat to Seger's "Night Moves".

Kid rock sucks. He always worms his way onto these awards, wether it be CMT, or BET, etc etc. Just to try to keep relevant. His songs are pathetic. His ego is overblown. He is just plain horrible
