Dierks Bentley on Breakouts and Hangovers

Dierks Bentley heard about his recent inclusion in Forbes' list of the 10 Next Breakout Stars from one of his biggest fans -- his mom, who routinely sends him news clippings about himself in the mail.

"That's pretty cool. I don't know what to make of it," Dierks tells Chicago radio station US 99 of the list, which says the singer has a "public awareness" rating of 14 percent, but of those aware of him, 43 percent like him "a lot."

Even though he's honored, Dierks admits he can't help but be a bit puzzled by the whole thing. "I've been touring and making music for six or seven years," he says, "and all of a sudden, Forbes says you're going to be a big deal. Uh, OK. If Forbes says so, then alright!"

Dierks also played movie critic during the call-in to US 99. Having just seen ''The Hangover,' he gives the raucous comedy an enthusiastic thumbs-up.

"It was hilarious," he says. "I'm a huge fan of all those "dude" movies like that -- 'Old School,' 'Anchorman.' I don't want to ruin it for anybody, but the montage at the end, the pictures were great. I definitely want to see it again. It'll be a big bus movie once that DVD comes out."
