He was the King of Pop, but Michael Jackson's influence crossed all genres. The Boot has gathered reaction from country stars on the passing of a music legend."I will remember Michael Jackson as the kid that overcame, as the
mesmerizing, moon-walking worldwide artist. He was forced to fill shoes that must have been crippling to walk in, but yet MJ found a reason and a way to dance in them like no one on earth." -- Rodney Atkins
"He was larger than life. He's an artist that has had an impact on every other artist, consciously or subconsciously. Musically, he helped to change the world, and his records will live on forever." - Miranda Lambert
"I am so sad to hear this news. I am a huge Michael Jackson fan ... I grew up listening to him. I used to moon-walk down the hallway in school when I was in the sixth grade ... We have now experienced a day like my mom explained to me the world experienced when Elvis died." -- Jimmy Wayne
"'Thriller' was the first album I ever bought with my own money. Michael Jackson was truly a pioneer." -- Joe Nichols
"I am shocked and saddened by the passing of Michael Jackson. He was the most memorable and impactful entertainer on me as a child. My parents had Elvis to watch and adore. I had Michael Jackson. There will never be another person to sing and dance like Michael Jackson." -- Luke Bryan
"Even country boys like Jay, Gary and myself ... I count it as a blessing to have been inspired by his music and his artistry." -- Rascal Flatts' Joe Don Rooney
"Michael Jackson was a musical genius. What a shock." -- James Young, Eli Young Band
"Michael Jackson's music knew no boundaries and has greatly influenced entertainers from all musical genres. There is no denying that his impact was global and he was loved by people all over the world. I truly believe he was this generation's Elvis Presley. In fact, the parallels in their death, are uncanny ... I recently introduced my children to his music and the groundbreaking "Thriller" video. It's something we have all danced around to in our living room and have enjoyed together as a family. There's no doubt that his musical legacy will live for generations to come." -- Jason Michael Carroll
"A sad day for the world of music." -- Reba McEntire
"Rest in peace, MJ. You made a musical impact on my life like any other. You will be missed by many. Live on through your music." -- Josh Gracin
"Say what you want about his personal [life], he was one of the reasons I wanted to be a performer ... He was the first album I ever bought, first concert I ever went to, the first song I ever learned and my first crush." -- Rissi Palmer
"Teaching [my daughter] Owen about Michael Jackson right now, playing all these amazing songs. She's 3 1/2 and she loves it. Amazing, life changing music." -- Michelle Branch
"His was a rare talent that we witness once in a lifetime. One who makes such an indelible mark that for generations singers and dancers attribute him as inspiration. I had the great privilege of watching him every night doing what he did best -- entertain. I am grateful to have known him for the two years I worked for him, and will mourn his loss with his many millions of fans across the world." -- Sheryl Crow (who used to sing backup for Jackson)

May Phil Spector, O.J. Simpson, and Michael Jackson all serve in the nine circles of hell, namely, self-indulgence, violent, and malicious ways. Oh, one of these guys is white (sorry naysayers). Payback is a bitch; it knows no color lines. I used to play Thriller alot; now, the album collects dust and I will not download it onto my iPod. A payout for me means guilty. Suffer the little children, yet the many cry for this loser. Now, his money goes the way of the wind and his greedy family. Peace and love to his victims.

Timat 6-26-2009
You're a jerk. May YOU be talked about like that when you die.

Yes, you're right. Payback is a bitch. And you will get yours. Last time you interviewed for the position of God, you were laughed out of the room just like the rest of us. Leave the judging to God. He does it better than you.

Unbelievable, who decided to give you the permission and authority to play GOD! I just lost my brother and it is very hard to deal with, I can only imagine what his family is going through now. You need to take a look at yourself and realize you yourself are not perfect. I will say this,I hope you have accepted GOD, because if not, you will find yourself rotting in the depths and flames of HELL. May God Bless you and give you some type of sense.

As others have already mentioned, he was found not guilty. Also, those rumors about him were out for years, why did people keeping sending their children to his home if they thought he was a child molester? If he was, who is worse, him or the parents pimping their children out? It was all for the money. We will never know what he did. I know he was odd and he was advised to stop doing things he did but this guy was obviously abused as a child himself. This is no excuse but show some compassion. The guy is dead and he lead a very sad life the last few years. Last I read, the good book said "let those without sin cast the first stone". None of us are so let's let the ultimate judge judge Michael Jackson for his sins. I hope where ever he is he sees the people listening to his music and smiling again. That is all he ever wanted.

Right on nilpojsinaj! I don't understand why we're supposed to feel bad that a creepy pedophile od'd. And anyone who says "he was found not guilty" - well, so was O.J... And MJ was only found not guilty after he paid out millions to get people to shut their kids up, which very much equals MAJOR GUILTY in my book. Yeah, he made some decent enough pop records. I guess that means if Hitler had released a couple of major albums in his day, his attrocities would be trivialized and forgiven too...

Gee, such wonderful loving peaceful people you are. I am not God. You, however, are arrogant religious fools who profess God's love, yet you condemn me to hell, and bless me like you have the right to. I simply stated that M. J. is mirrored like an idol, who you should not worship, and he is ignored for sleeping in bed with little boys (M.J.'s own words), and the kids who did come forth. Curtis Haire, you made an online threat against me, and it is legal evidence against you should it happen. Peace to you brother (hint). Something is lacking in people's lives, and so they project themselves on M.J.'s death. He helped in charities, BUT that was a cover up for his deeds. If you believe in the Devil, he comes in sheep's clothing.......I do not mind dying; it happens to EVERYONE! God has the job-no interviews allowed! Me, I am agnostic. KMA

Michael Jackson Is Worthy Of Massive Disrespect
One of my hobbies is photography. As a responsible adult, I have chosen to follow a self-imposed rule, which is never to shoot a photograph of a child or children intentionally that is/are not related to me. If Michael Jackson were a responsible adult, he never would have had children in his bed, never had children on his property or never would have sought out children for any reason. Considering that Michael Jackson slept with children, young boys, had children on his property and sought out children, Michael Jackson was a very irresponsible and stupid adult. As such, Michael Jackson is worthy of massive disrespect.
