Kenny Chesney Has 'Normal' Girlfriend in Abnormal Life

Kenny Chesney knows his life is unconventional. And when it comes to dating, he's apparently given up on romancing Oscar-winning actresses. In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Kenny reveals that he's currently in a relationship with a nurse (now, that's healthy!).

"I'm dating a girl who's pretty levelheaded," says the country superstar. "She's a nurse. She's a real, normal girl. Which is what I need because my life isn't normal."

That's about all Kenny will reveal about his love life, as he has a new rule when it comes to dating: discretion.

"I have to be really careful," he tells the Chronicle. "With MySpace and Facebook, the rules have changed. There are enough people out there saying things that aren't true. I have to be careful who I associate myself with. It's a little tougher for me."

And while his personal life may be getting more grounded, the same doesn't hold true for Kenny's live shows. On his current Sun City Carnival tour, the singer soars over the audience in a flying chair, technology that was inspired in part by the rock 'n' roll antics of vintage Van Halen -- not surprising since Kenny's tour manager worked in the same capacity with that group for 12 years.

"When I was a kid, I saw David Lee Roth fly across the audience on a surfboard," says Kenny. "Last year we were trying to decide how we want to make this tour different, so we took that idea and combined it with the technology they use for 'Monday Night Football' -- cameras that can go into the huddle and fly over the stadium. I realize it's borderline cheesy, but it just allows me to get closer to the fans. I can go anywhere on that seat. I may regret it five years from now."

Kenny's backstage tiki bar was also inspired by another Van Halen singer -- his Poets & Pirates tour mate Sammy Hagar, who gifted him with a sombrero while celebrating Sammy's birthday at his Cabo Wabo nightclub.

'I put that sombrero on top of Marley [the 235-pound stuffed blue marlin that's currently on tour with Kenny], just to give more attitude, and somebody stole it," says Kenny. "That's the maddest I've been on tour. I'll never get it back."

One memento he hasn't lost, however, is from another tour mate, Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh. It's a nod to all of the other honors he's received, such as being four-time CMA Entertainer of the Year.

"He gave me a big, huge bowling trophy and it said, 'The Joe Walsh Award for Winning So Many Awards.' That's my favorite one. It's the ugliest thing you ever seen. I have all the things I was lucky enough to win in a gym that I built, where I keep all my sports memorabilia, because I think it's pretentious to have all that stuff in your house. A friend of mine built this awesome pool, but he built it on the side of his house, away from his view. He said, 'I don't want to see it. I want to work. I don't want to sit by the pool.' That's kind of how I feel about it."

There...you see, moron is m.o.r.o.n. Easy, now quit with the simple and stupid comments. Who gives a flying *&%$ if he's gay or not. Some like him, some don't. Obviously ANYONE commenting on this article clicked on it and read it in order to comment. So you can talk all the smack you want, you must be "in the closet" about YOUR attraction/interest in this guy. Personally, I love him. On the stage, in the bed, he has nothing to prove to any of us.

Does it really matter who's gay and who isn't? In the grand scheme of things is it going to change how he sounds?
And another strike is him being bald? Does his lack of hair change how he sounds?
It amazes me how many people state on here they don't like country music, then why bother to make a comment?

sorry jimmy!! did not mean to offend you. i could care less who is gay and who isn't, it's not a person's color, gender or ethnic background we should judge them by anyway...it should be their personality and what is in their heart!! i don't think you would like people condemning you for being gay so i'm sure Kenny Chesney feels same way. just because he is in the spotlight as well as all other famous people does not give people right to scrutinize them! of course as a Christian you should already know this but maybe others should think about it!!

Just like you I just hate to see people get on a blog and condemn somebody--if they don't like Kenny Chesney why are they even on here anyway except to cause trouble

Well, Kenny is NOT gay. Which he has said many times over. He writes his own songs. I am very happy that he has found some balance in his life and it looks like some of the folks who have posted the negative remarks need some balance. I wonder why all the negativity? Negativity breeds negativity..if you have nothing to say that is good don't say anything at all. He is awesome entertainer and I have an fan for years. He has been photograph without his hat on and it is shown in his video "Everyone Wants to go to heavan" He is not ashamed of his baldness and I find men who are bald are so sexy to me. We all have a gift and Kenny has discovered which has made him a very wealthy man. I am so happy that he found his gift because I have enjoyed his gift for many years.

I'm not questioning his talent, just his sexuality.

Pardon me twinmom but you need to look up moron. I'm right. It's spelled m o r o n. Also, I am talented. I am a singer and have been told often that I am good. I sing solos all the time and have been told by professionals that I need to do something with my talent other than church, etc., Also, I'm a Christian and I'm also gay. If he is gay, that's not anything to be ashamed of. It's not to be proud of either but acceptable. He didn't stay married too long to Renee, did he? I have gaydar. I 9 times out of ten can tell if someone is gay or bi or straight. Also, look up moron on an online dictionary and you will see how it's spelled. Moran is a city in Texas. Moron means a stupid person. I'm not calling you stupid because I am not childish calling people names.

Ok people get off the computer and go back to school. Moron is spelled with an O. Kenny needs to come out of the closet. Women you can have all the sex with him you want it doesn't mean he still isn't gay. Nobody knew I was gay for quite some time. People let you see what they want you to see or until they get caught.
